And a big F. U. to the NHL. What the hell are you trying to do to them? My god. 17 games played so far, so they are averaging a game every 1.8 days (which is a tighter schedule than the playoffs). And get this, 11 of the 17 games have been on the road. 5 sets of back 2 backs so far (a 6th comes Friday/Saturday). Everyone of the 2nd game of the B2B's have been on the road. The opponents, Tampa (the best team twice), the Blackhawks, the Predators. Again, all on the road, all of them not playing their second game of B2B's.

If anyone thinks the NHL favors the Penguins, LOL, yeah right. It is almost like they want them out of the way for some of the younger emerging teams. But, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

They are not playing well. But they are holding their own. Every goalie they seem to face right now is putting up their best effort.

Think about this, after this weekend, they will have played 19 games. Of those 19, 12 have been back to back, and an amazing 13 out of 19 will have been on the road. And again, it blows my mind that on the back to backs, their opponents have all been rested. But again, what doesn't kill you will make you stronger. Because....the schedule is going to lighten up.

After this weekend, there will only be 2 more B2B's this year (2017). But yes, once again, Tampa will be one of them. That means they will have played the Lightening 3 times before December, all of which will be the second game of back to backs, but at least the one in Late November, Tampa also has a Friday game.

After this weekend, 13 out of their next 21 will be at home through the remaining of the calendar year. There is no Olympic Break, there is a bye week, but I have no idea why the NHL decided to hammer the team that has played the most games, and played into the latest time, a very heavy front loaded schedule.

Again, the flip side is this turns around and the Pens should have a manageable schedule. They have managed to survive. They have alot of worts, and perhaps it was good to have this kind of schedule to not mask them, but it has killed Kris Letang who hasn't exactly been able to be eased into this year after his surgery and missed time from last year.

Completely agree and the most telling thing is that they will pull through. Not necessarily with flying colors but good enough to kick ass later on.

Totally disagree. They are front loading the schedule but the second half will be much less rigorous. They have a chance to build depth and get healthy late while everyone else is killing each other.

But you're right. Their schedule has been rediculous.

The league has gone nuts with the back to back games, not only for the Pens but for everybody. I'll start worrying about the Pens in February when football is over and people start playing for playoff position. Till then it's just win enough to keep your head above water.

Cross your fingers and hope no big injury occurs during this stretch. I’m curious if Jarry will get the 30 games that Niemi was expected to play, or if Murray will be forced to play more. He and Letang scare me the most with injury history.
