I just read
this story and thought of this thread. This is exactly what I was talking about last week.
How can you have a Hall of Fame or decide that anyone is “good enough” or “not good enough” for an artistic acknowledgement? I just can’t fully understand that thought process.
In the story, David Crosby says that Ted Nugent does not belong in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame because he is simply not good enough. Crosby goes on to call “The Nuge” a “hack player and a terrible singer.”
Honestly, I’m inclined to agree with Crosby. I don’t personally consider Ted Nugent to be one of the great rock ‘n’ roll performers of all-time. I think he was an average musician and basically a one-trick pony, but a really good provocateur. Honestly, that’s still kind of his thing many years after he has exited his artistic prime.
However, mine and Crosby’s are just two people’s opinions. It’s still highly subjective.
