Kirstie alley joining the cheers crew was the shows “jumping the shark” moment. Really was quite awful from them on out.See, the main problem with Cheers was that Mayday would never have been interested in homely wenches like Diane and whatever they called Kirstie Alley. The surrounding parts were amusing but could never suspend belief long enough to buy into that absurd story line. Mayday was a former MLB stud. Even in Boston, that would assure him continued hot tail well into his late 50s.
