OT: TCU vs Arizona

I think the NCAA should totally get rid of hanging on the rim as a technical.
Outside of something egregious like doing pull-ups and screaming at the other team, maybe
It shouldn’t be a judgement call regarding safety

No doubt … but it’s a gray area now that could simply be eliminated. Hanging on the rim does nothing to affect the game.
Slippery slope there. Would it be okay for a guy who posterized another player to stand over top of him If he fell to the ground? The rule was put in for sportsmanship let’s be honest. The Illinois kid did not deserve a T earlier in the day.

Personally I hate all the chest thumping theatrics and just would rather watch a player drain a thirty footer and walk away.

I hear your point but I think you know what I’m saying as well. Ref Brian OConnell called one in the Illinois game that wasn’t any worse.

I don’t know. On one hand, I definitely agree that things weren’t headed in the right direction. I believe we would’ve been a tournament team in 2017 had he stayed, but there would’ve been a lot of uncertainty after that once Artis, Young, Jones, and Jeter left.

With that being said, he seemed to be ahead of the curve when it came to using the transfer portal to patch the roster. He also would’ve had Cam Johnson and Ryan Luther to build around.

I can’t speculate whether he would’ve improved his recruiting here or changed his offensive approach the way he has at TCU, but I will say that the bottom would’ve never fallen out the way it did under Stallings and Capel simply because there wouldn’t have been as much roster turnover. Just my opinion, though.
Not sure there's a guarantee that Cam stays on that bad roster post Artis/Young even if Dixon remained. Didn't his father come out and say that their plan was always to get Cam's feet wet at Pitt, graduate early and then 'upgrade' schools? It was something ridiculous like that, which is why I can't understand how so many give him a pass or root for him today.

And then there was the 1 that wasn't called, forget which game, where the player hung on the rim before the dunk.

I don’t recall hearing that, but you may very well be right.

That’s why I think a lot of this arguing over Dixon is futile; we have no idea how things would’ve turned out with him or the players on his team. All we can do now is move forward and fix the current state of the program.

Indeed!!!!!

We know it would have been better than what we’ve seen.
It would have definitely been better than what we had seen. I also think Heather would have been a perfect AD for Jamie and I speculate that a year or two into her reign Jamie would be as comfortable with the ACC as he was with the Big East. You see he is far more comfortable in Big12 now than in first few years.

So, even if Jamie “chased” other jobs at least Heather’s money would be going to a good coach and not some bum.

Bear in mind though, that the clamoring for Jamie to do better would still have gone on for 2-3 years until things improved. It is just the nature of fandom to complain.
