OT: What is the 5 states you most DON'T want to live in??

As a former New Jerseyian that visits family in the state quite often, this is not true. We love our beer in the garden state
You’ll need to explain how this new law encourages breweries to continue operating in NJ. Seems like they chose restaurants over microbrews.

Been in 47 states for work travel. Mostly drive..

Upper Midwest while Looks ok Nothing there just corn.. One place that sticks out is Oklahoma.. Flew into DFW drove north, when i was in Oklahoma it reminded me of some third world redneck hell hole, and I am a redneck and was like wtf!!!!!!!
But doesn’t make your top 5?

But this thread is proving something. We aren't supposed to be different cultures and beliefs. Oh sure slightly one way, slighly the other. Disagreements. But not polar opposite. It is like the center magnet that kept us together just complete lost power and we are dramatically and intentionally doing what we can to offend and push each other away.

Serious question. How many out there want some form of Civil War? Because folks, congress is scaring me. It should scare you.

It’s my favorite vacation we’ve taken.
Even the state parks are amazing
Fly into Denver. Rent a car and drive along lower CO. Visits Great Sand Dunes, Pagosa Springs, Durango, Mera Verde, 4 Corners and up into Utah. See the parks there. Fly out of SLC or Vegas. Greatest drive of your life.

Great trip. But keep going to Teton, Yellowstone, and Glacier.

Honestly, I would love to just retire, and take off a trip across the country, been pretty much everywhere east of the Mississippi and those ugly border plain states (bordering the Mississippi) But spend time in North Dakota, Montana, Western Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Oregon, Washington and Cali and just look at things. Stop. Eat. Stay, go out to the local establishment, not have any set time. Just experience, and then head up British Columbia into Alaska.

I wrote about it before so you probably saw it. We took a 5-week driving trip from Asheville to Glacier via St. Louis, Kansas City, the Badlands, and Mt Rushmore. From Glacier, we went south through Yellowstone to Salt Lake City. Then the big 5 in Utah, the Grand Canyon, and a bunch of state parks. We turned east through southern Colorado and down to Santa Fe. Our return to Asheville included Waco. Arkansas, Memphis, and Nashville.

It was a fantastic trip and I highly recommend it. Reservations around the popular parks do require some set time constraints, though.

Mississippi, Nevada, Oklahoma, Kansas and Michigan (which has some beautiful areas).

Omaha, NE is probably a top 3 underrated town in USA. Other towns (not states) that are underrated are Greenville, SC, Burlington, VT, and Lexington, KY.

In terms of quiet/very small towns, Elkins, WV and Lewisburg, WV are really quaint/pleasant towns with lots of outdoor activities close by and just enough culture too. Pack a fly rod, skis, snowshoes, and hiking boots. Lots to do.

See I really like Michigan. First off, the entire western (Lake Michigan) coast is awesome, with amazing terrain. Traverse City is great as is the golf there and Gaylord area. The UP you might as well be in Ontario. Lake Huron is as blue of water as I ever seen and the coast there is underrated. Even the suburbs of Detroit (North and West between Detroit and Ann Arbor) are rolling green hills, beautiful. Now you are cruising down Woodward, Livernois and 7 and 8 mile roads....it is might as well be Mogadishu. But what is so weird, you drive the length of 7 mile from Livonia through Detroit it is a war zone then bam you cross another road and you are in Grosse Point Isle and it is amazing mansions on the water. The ultimate have and have not street.

Shhhhh….keep it down. I’d rather not have any more narrow-minded chuckleheads here than the ones we’re already burdened with.
