His buddy AD Del Conte bolted right after hiring him.
Now another round of conference budget slashing chaos to deal with.
Maybe he'll retire.

The guy has won at two of the hardest places to win in CBB yet “his days are numbered in the P5”. If he became available tomorrow he’d have his pick of jobs.Well he hasn't won much. Making the tournament once and yet to have a winning conference season.
Baylor winning the championship might've placed some pressure on him, but now that the Big 12 may be done, he might get some extra time.
Not sure how many years he got left on his contract.
I see him ending up at a West Coast Conference school like Pepperdine, UC-Davis, or someplace like that. His Power conference days are definitely numbered.
$1 billion? That's a stretch, that seems impossible.Dixon might have $25 million in the bank given salaries over his last 10 years and figuring in stock market investment and other things that his financial planners have him in. I could see that figure but maybe lower.
The debates about Dixon’s coaching will live on but we should all agree that his net worth isn’t 1 billion.Dixon might have $25 million in the bank given salaries over his last 10 years and figuring in stock market investment and other things that his financial planners have him in. Maybe that's what the boosters are slipping him to stay at TCU?The debates about Dixon’s coaching will live on but we should all agree that his net worth isn’t 1 billion.

To say tha "he'd have his pick of jobs" is a far stretch. And I'm referring to Power Conference jobs. He's 34-54 in conference at TCU and hasn't had a winning season yet. At 10 million a yr ( no taxes ) it would only take 100yrs to earn 1 billion !The debates about Dixon’s coaching will live on but we should all agree that his net worth isn’t 1 billion.
Don't forget about the royalty checks from his child acting career! The debates about Dixon’s coaching will live on but we should all agree that his net worth isn’t 1 billion.

I'll agree with you that he'd definitely get looked at by ADs because of the good old boy network.
His roughest year may be this one. Was supposed to have 6 of his top 7 kids returning. However, because of transfers and early departures for pro-league opportunities, now I believe it's 2 of his top 7.Well he hasn't won much. Making the tournament once and yet to have a winning conference season.

I don't know if his coaching days are just about over, no other big time basketball schools are knocking on his door to lure him away from his dream job at TCU, and he is just fine where he is, as long as he's not at PittThe guy has won at two of the hardest places to win in CBB yet “his days are numbered in the P5”. He saw the look in their eyes
And he knew better
He wanted them to stay
And they are now gone forever
It made him feel so sad
Oh, oh, oh, Jamie's cryin'
Oh, oh, oh, Jamie's cryin'
Now Jamie couldn't say alright
He knew they'd forget him
And so they said a goodnight
And now they're gone forever
He wants to send him a letter a yeah, yeah
Just to try to make himself feel much better
It said give me
(Give me a call sometime)
But he knows what that'll get him
Oh, oh, oh, Jamie's cryin'
Oh, oh, oh, Jamie's cryin'
Now Jamie's seen this move before
And he knows what the move is for
It should mean a little, a little more
Than million dollar brands
He wants to send him a letter a yeah, yeah
Just to try to make himself feel much better
It said give me
(Give me a call sometime, I like the Gulf Coast)
But she knows what that'll get him
Oh, oh, oh, Jamie's cryin'
Oh, oh, oh, Jamie's cryin'
Oh, oh, oh, Jamie's cryin'
Oh, oh, oh, Jamie's cryin'
Oh, oh, oh, Jamie's cryin'
Well said. I miss the days when Pitt basketball was relevant. The amount of disrespect Dixon gets in this website is wild. Dude was one of the best coaches in Pitt sports history and led the team into being a perennial tournament maker and constant top 25 team.
What makes you say this?TCU shitcanning him after this year, so we will see where he goes
Or he could have invested well in a market that has exploded for the last decade.......YepAt 10 million a yr ( no taxes ) it would only take 100yrs to earn 1 billion !
Don’t worry about JD , KS , or JC financial future , they’ll do ok in retirement!
I see him in the American Athletic Conference soon. Maybe a place like South Florida or East Carolina....and could do fairly well for a program like that, probably get them to the NCAAT.Well he hasn't won much. Making the tournament once and yet to have a winning conference season.

TCU.....was impossible. It may have been the single worst program in P5. He was at one time, considered top 5 coaches. It is weird how this all played out. He definitely is one coach who has been impacted the most by this conference shuffling.I see him in the American Athletic Conference soon. Honestly though, I am not sure there's another coach out there who had such a strong start to their career but then backslid so significantly without NCAA sanctions
I’m sure JD and his buds KS and JC are well advised in investment issues and are set for life .Or he could have invested well in a market that has exploded for the last decade.......Yep
Nah, its basketball. You need 3 good players. No job is impossible.TCU.....was impossible. It may have been the single worst program in P5. He was at one time, considered top 5 coaches. Well, if TCU didn't insist on getting a full buyout, he would have been at UCLA, not Pottymouth. I think that is a P5 job.I don't know if his coaching days are just about over, no other big time basketball schools are knocking on his door to lure him away from his dream job at TCU, and he is just fine where he is, as long as he's not at Pitt

That is a tough job. Cronin is a good coach.Maybe so, but I’m sure that UCLA is breathing a huge sigh of relief that they ended up with Cronin instead of Dixon.
Why is telling it like it is disrespectful to him? This is a message board and this is what people do. No one is jumping in his face and telling him he hasn’t been relevant for 10 years. We can acknowledge that his time here was the best we’ve ever seen. And we can also acknowledge that the game has passed him by. It’s ok to say so.The amount of disrespect Dixon gets in this website is wild. I’ve never understood why people can’t see this or other topics both ways. Its possible to recognize that Dixon did an unbelievable job at Pitt while also acknowledging that he hasnt been very good at TCU.Why is telling it like it is disrespectful to him? Belichick wasn’t very good in Cleveland being doing ok in New England !I’ve never understood why people can’t see this or other topics both ways. Its possible to recognize that Dixon did an unbelievable job at Pitt while also acknowledging that he hasnt been very good at TCU.
Agree with that, but having the right players is ultimately the responsibility of the head coach. If he doesn’t have them that is pretty much his own fault and no one else’s.Belichick wasn’t very good in Cleveland being doing ok in New England !
A lot goes into success , but nothing beats having the right players .
He put all his money in Bitcoin years ago.Or he could have invested well in a market that has exploded for the last decade.......Yep
his coaching style leads me to believe he couldnt handle the volatilityHe put all his money in Bitcoin years ago.
He had trouble late at Pitt because his ADs messed with it. Maybe they were jealous?I’ve never understood why people can’t see this or other topics both ways. Its possible to recognize that Dixon did an unbelievable job at Pitt while also acknowledging that he hasnt been very good at TCU.
