For me, the biggest disappointment this year, so far, and I say so far because there is plenty of time for even bigger disappointments, is the play of Hamlin and especially Ford.
Safety play was supposed to be a strength, and both of these experienced guys have not come through in any kind of consistent way.
Let me correct that, Ford HAS been consistent. Consistent at playing like an out of control meathead.
He came a whisker away from getting ANOTHER targeting call yesterday. THEN acting like Hulk Hogan after doing it!
For WHAT?? Jurkovec was already stopped and being held by another player. Ford came flying in and basically exploded into an immobile tackling dummy. Then, when he went down, stood over him and flexed his arms like he had just made the most incredible play in the history of the NCAA!
Even without targeting, he should have been flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct in a flash!
What a total disappointment this guy's career has been. The gemstone of Nardawg's recruiting history has turned out to be a cheap zirconium ripoff.
