No matter how much of this disgusting evidence is revealed it will not matter to the majority of the cult that is PENN STATE. The only people they are upset with is McQueary and Freeh. And that F-ing statue will be back soon. These people simply don't care

The SHTF so to speak. Hard to see how PSU and paterno supporters can refute coaches actually complaining about Sandusky. Kind blows the whole argument of how a serial pedophile can remain active for 40 years and no one knew.

Nonsense. Jerry is innocent. There was nothing for Joe to know because nothing bad happened. This is a conspiracy because everyone in the world hates Penn State.

Yep. Hates them and is just envious and jealous of them. (At least according to the cult).

It does say that one of the reports(1998) were told to the PSU Police, investigated and dropped by the DA Office, similar to the 2001 incident.

Probably because it was a he said - he said thing. No substantial proof the more I think about it.

98 wasn't that when PSU ignored the advice of the expert on child abuses advice and instead went with the opinion of someone far less qualified?

It's always he said he said she said in these cases without video footage... Which is why it's so hard to prosecute

Self induced death penalty of their football program would send a strong message to the victims and show that they are serious about getting healed.
Self-induced. I am rolling on the floor in laughter. Thanks for the good laugh. The Cult members have rioted, filed lawsuits, accused the victims of chasing $, and done everything under the sun to fight for Paterno's innocence and try and turn it around as though they were the victims. There is nothing that would change their minds, and I mean nothing.

Yep, but how could PSU allow this scumbag to keep an office etc, with all this around.

If PSU exiles him from Happy Valley, makes him shut down 2nd mile or at least quit SUPPORTING IT!!! Then I could see the PSU faithful saying they are looked at in the wrong light. But DAMN, he was sitting in the President's box for 409 and working out with coaches in the gym the week he was arrested!! Disgusting!

I will play Devils advocate here and state that this is coming from the insurance company but there is too much smoke to ignore. Like I said above, they mentioned 3 separate coaches being told with one dead but one a current Tampa Bay coach. If that coach voucher for the story, "there is the truth."

The question will be if that assistant in Tampa is loyal to Joe. And if he admits knowing, what that does to his career.

The comments posted by cult members are especially disturbing. See below

and we should believe an "insurance" expert why? This is just another PL hit piece filled with lies, opinions and no facts.

They will go to their graves denying that anything ever happened.

Exactly. He speaks up now he looks like a coward and ends his career. If this or any other assistant that witnessed this had any guts or integrity they would have done something at the time

Much more likely because that was standard operating procedure for the entire athletic department and the local and campus police. Whenever anyone attached to football got in trouble, it would get buried and remanded to Paterno to take care of internally. It was well known if a player got in trouble, the police would drive them to Paterno's house, not any station. If someone outside the inner Paterno sanctum tried to hold a player accountable, their career was ruined. Press were intimidated and would have their press passes revoked. Penn State staff were fired. Paterno was widely known to be vindictive if he felt that he was crossed (which essentially meant disagreed with). Some of his own players' careers were sabatoged. All of this was a well known operating procedure for decades for all types of incidents. And now we know that Paterno and authorities were informed about Sandusky's proclivities multiple times prior to this.

Bradley being a complete scumbag is hardly shocking to anyone with any common sense. People who had called for his hire at Pitt, at least after the scandal broke, are no better than the cultists and should be deeply ashamed.

Don't forget it was stated in one of the victims' court testimonies that he suspected Bradley knew something or was suspicious. Bradley was just a sniveling, cowardly cog in the Paterno machinery. McQueary was the only one with enough guts to do the right thing, eventually.

Anyone familiar with athletics and the coaching fraternity knowns that is absolutely implausible that every long-termer on staff wasn't aware of Sandusky. Yet, no clean sweep was done and the best recruiters were retained for O'Brien's staff. Was a repulsive institution and fan base.

The article also indicates that the insurance expert testified that a report was made by an alleged victim in 1976. Sandusky coached at PSU until 1999. So that was 23 years after the insurance expert testified that the football program was put on notice, relative to allegations about potential inappropriate activity by JS, that they actually allowed him to continue to be a coach on their football team.

So someone tell me again, how was this a football problem?

People muddle these things.

98 was reported by the family and investigated by local police. It did not advance to a prosecution because the child would not testify. You simply can not make a child sexual abuse prosecution minus some kind of video evidence without the victim's testimony.

The 98 incident was also child lined, a separate process not bound by the legal system, and with no criminal consequences. At the time this process would either found, indicate or unfound a report of child abuse of some kind. If it was found or indicated, the person involved would have this marked on their record for child clearances and any organization that required a CYS clearance to allow people to be in contact with children would see this on their report and not be allowed to have them around children.

This was what you were referring to. Part of the investigation of the claim included an initial assessment of Sandusky that was pretty damning. Another assessment was done by someone who "cleared" Sandusky. Based on this assessment the department of welfare investigator in charge of the report listed this claim as unfounded.

So, not that too many if anyone actually did child abuse clearances on him, but if someone did for Sandusky his would not show any indicated or founded incidents.

The 01 incident never was reported to anyone past the VP at the university who happened to be at the top of the chart of administrators for the university police. It did not even get to the actual university police.

The PS cult is sick and twisted. That is for sure.

The question is are the any additional fall backs on PSU. Yes it blows a hole in the irrational supporters of Paterno but the gutless NCAA allowed the nits to get back in the swing of things. I think all along the BOT when confronted with the overwhelming fact that they were mostly in the dark except for a few trustees who covered up for Paterno were in panic mode. Paterno I will decide when to leave two days before being fired is emblematic of just how corrupt and insular PSU was under the Paterno regime. This redefines loss of Institutional control doesn't it.

You are correct. Winning with Dishonor.

In addition to these new facts I keep going back to Why would the heir apparent(Sandusky) quit at the peak of his career?Does anybody really believe he waited til he was 55 to start having perverted tendency? Of course not! Red flags should have been raised instantly! Paterno knew and so did a whole lot of others and wanted it to go away with Sandusky into retirement. Sadly his perversion didn't take retirement

Email sent to alumni from PSU President Eric Barron this morning...

Statement from Penn State President Eric Barron related to anticipated unsealing of court documents

"Today, information is being released by the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas related to a lawsuit between Penn State and its insurer, Pennsylvania Manufacturers Association. For its part, the University does not plan to provide additional comment on these matters, as this information has largely already been covered by media.

Penn State's overriding concern has been, and remains, for the victims of Jerry Sandusky. While individuals hold different opinions, and may draw different inferences from the testimony about former Penn State employees, speculation by Penn State is not useful. We must be sensitive to all individuals involved, and especially to those who may be victims of child sexual abuse. It also makes it much more difficult for Penn State to create an environment where victims of sexual abuse feel comfortable coming forward and where students, faculty and staff feel protected in reporting wrongdoing.

Although settlements have been reached, it also is important to reiterate that the alleged knowledge of former Penn State employees is not proven, and should not be treated as such. Some individuals deny the claims, and others are unable to defend themselves.

Speculation also serves to drive a wedge within the Penn State community. I would ask that we remember our University's primary mission is to focus on research, education and service. Let's be respectful of other viewpoints and focus on our mission. The University is committed to ensuring our campuses are safe for children, and to ongoing prevention and education programs and research that contribute to a better society.

I want to thank our Penn State community for caring so deeply about not only our university during these difficult times, but also for the victims of child abuse."

Eric J. Barron Penn State President

Apparently Paterno didn't attend Sandusky's retirement function. This was seen as odd at the time, but makes perfect sense in retrospect. But of course, because it was good for the program, Sandusky was allowed to keep full access to PSU football, and was still bringing children to practices even after McQueary reported his observed incident.
