From the 2 games I've seen, you can see that the 3 frosh are easily ACC caliber.
McGowens cant shoot but he has a natural ability to get to the rim. He wants to create every time he gets it. We have literally never had a SG like that.
Johnson is wild and out of control but is athletic as all get-out. He also is trying to make a play every time he gets it. Once he settles down and gets more coaching/seasoning, he can be really good.
Toney is going to be a nice SF type. Athletic, can rebound, can score. Basically a not-quite-as-good McGowens. Reminds me of those athletes that Miami and VT always seem to have.
There's 3 really nice pieces there but was we all know, we are desperate for post guys. Kene plays hard but he isnt an NCAAT starter and Brown hasn't improved and I'm not seeing a high ceiling in him, lacks athleticism. We need to get 1 of Akok, Wahab, or Samuels. If we can somehow get 2 out of 3, the NCAAT in Year 3 is almost a lock.
Boy does this team play different. Fast-breaking, driving, etc. This is the exact style that kids want to play. I know its just YSU but as I watched it I thought, "OK, well this is what recruits want," but Capel has to continue to get guys. Its definitely a fun style and even Zeise commented after the game that although it was a small crowd, the crowd was lively, loud, and into the game. It was FUN. And I can't remember thr last time I could say that.
