To all the bowl selection guru's - what are Pitt's chances at being selected to this bowl? What conference would the opponent belong to? I think it is usually ACC vs Big Ten?

I think the chances are very high that we end up in New York City. And yes, it would be against a Big 10 team. I have seen Pitt/Iowa speculated in a few places.

Did you watch our Sun Bowl in 2008? With the 30 MPH winds? Or better yet, last year's when it snowed. And no, Charlotte is not warm in late December.

Trust me when I tell you that no, they are not – not this time of year.

I didn't think El Paso was so bad. We stayed in Albuquerque and that was beautiful. There's not a lot to do there – certainly not as much to do as New York City – but it was a neat stadium.

That is what I would do. I stayed in El Paso last time, and it did suck. New Years Eve in El Paso was awful.

But, the game was worse, cold, windy, and a sucky QB to watch ... was a nightmare. That being said, the whole town got into it, and it was a good experience. But, if we go this year, it is Albuquerque for me.

Make sure you check out White Sands, NM., if you go this year. It's very cool. There are enormous sand dunes that look like snow. Our kids"sledded" down them (I did a few times too). Places around there sell and rent plastic saucers for that purpose.

Sun Bowl vs. Stanford would be the best case scenario IMO. Most of the bowls Pitt could go to are similar in terms of respectability. So I'd rather see the most intriguing matchup. I think it'd be awesome to play a team like Stanford that we probably wouldn't otherwise play ever.
