According to a Yardbarker article. They list 25 cinderella teams for the tournament and Pitt is lister as one. They said a tough ACC schedule will help them, and have wins at ND, FSU, and Syr. Can't link but on cover page of MSN.com.

Far better Dixon teams haven't beaten the teams they should have beaten in the tourney.

Do people really believe this Dixon team will beat teams they shouldn't beat in the tourney... let alone teams they should?

I appreciate the positive press, though.

We are definitely an ugly step-sister. We are in dire need of a fairy godmother though. On the other hand, our guys do play like they are wearing glass slippers, so we got that going for us.
Fun Fact: Just borrowed Cinderella at library this morning.

I think this team has far more variance than other teams. The teams of the early part of the decade relied on defense and methodically crushing opponents. When they hit a hot player, their margin for error was pretty small.

This team could (if they played like they did in early January) outscore anyone, though of course, they could also lose to a much inferior team.

This team is nothing like a Dixon team. In a weird way, if this team did get in, there's probably more of a potential they pull an upset if they just shoot out of their minds. Also, and this is weird to say, this team probably would be a better team on a neutral site, they always play better away from home.

This team could win two games in the NCAA's or not win another the rest of the season, just impossible to say. I'd probably bet on the latter, but I don't know.

This team can score in the high 80's or they can struggle to crack 60. The constant is the inability to beat a good (ranked) team. If they somehow get into the tourney without showing that ability at least once, don't expect it to finally happen in the round of 32.

Also... Jamie doesn't exactly engender the loose and pressure-free mentality you see among the underdogs who pull upsets this time of year.

I don't think this team can "outscore anyone", and frankly I don't think they proved anything 6 weeks ago. This team has done absolutely nothing this season to indicate that we can beat a well coached, talented team in one and done NCAA tournament play. I think the odds of us having some kind of lights out shooting night against a good team are next to zero. We just don't have those kinds of players.

I still remember when Bob Knight picked us to win it all. Boy did we let him down yet again lol.

Bump.

Only fair to acknowledge that they got their good win. Lends a little credibility to hopes for a post-season run.

Still work to do to lock up a bid.

This would be the "right time" to start peaking.

Pitt's a real up and down team. Games like today show how good they can be. In a weak CBB year, a Cinderella run isn't inconceivable.

This is Dixon's highest scoring team ever. It came at the sacrifice of the defense all season, but lately the defense has been very good. I like our chances this year as a talented Cinderella that is peaking better than when were a high seed and had to play the Cinderellas who had nothing to lose.
