No. It's on the administration for leaving the best conference ever to join a bunch of hicks. Every time I see a Bojangles or tractor commercial it reminds me that Pitt left the most media savvy conference ever created for one that can't even figure out basic marketing. If you don't get how that affects recruiting, attendance and donations you have no clue about college sports.
Yeah, we'd be so much better off right now if we were still in the Big East.

The Big East, and all its Guido Leaders from Providence College sucked. Almost as bad as Nerdy. The ACC is a great conference.
Basketball isn't the drive. Nerdenberg was a buffoon and A non performing coach given a ridiculous 10 year extension is a major problem. You're just seeing the beginning of how bad hoops is going to get at Pitt.

Yep. The most successful coach in the history of the greatest basketball conference ever, suddenly became dumb. You really don't understand the big picture at all. And for those of you that don't believe Pitt could have changed things with the direction of the Big East, keep dreaming those little dreams of yours.
There were forces in motion that were ending the Big East no matter what Pitt did.
If Pitt doesn't go with Syracuse to the ACC in 2011, Connecticut would have.
And today, we'd be in the AAC in Connecticut's place. Our football program would be dead. Our basketball program would have no hope going forward.
The Big East was on life support and in a coma. It was dead.
The best and only action Pitt had was to get to the ACC or some other Power conference while we still could.
If we didnt, we'd be where UCONN is today.

Not to mention, both coaches banned from postseason play within two years of joining the league.

Hey, at least it would help improve Dixon's resume vs the cupcakes. He loves devouring those things. But against the big, meaty teams, he backs off & Pitt suffers. Eating to many cupcakes has gotten Pitt out of shape & that's why we're so bad...

Well, actually, we would be. That's a tremendous RPI league but the teams aren't any good. We would be 3rd in that league right now. Its a much better league, competitively, for us. However, that doesn't mean we should have stayed there. The move to the ACC wasn't even a thought. You should want to compete with the big boys. Look at Nova, they win every game but will get bounced in R32 again.

And it still is....Any team in the current conference is going no where.Look at it, they're a bunch of has been's.St.Johns,Georgetown,Seton Hall.Need I go on? This isn't the 80's anymore...And the team at the top is so overated it's not even funny.You would have thought the media would have figured that out last year.
Obviously the ACC was the best landing spot although I wonder if dominating the AAC would have been better for making NYD bowls and the NCAA in the short term. But obviously ACC long term is the best option for the program.
That being said I'm getting tired of most games being blacked out online and nowhere to be found on tv here in eastern pa. It's getting harder to be a Pitt alumnus and fan here in philly and I'm not really sure the athletic department cares.
And the conference really is still stuck in the old boy southern south. I do miss the old big east always being on tv for both sports
