Pitt/Clemson— where were you when the kick went through the uprights?

As someone posted above, the Pens and Maple Leafs were playing that night.

The wife and i went to Cains Saloon for dinner at 5:30, got a booth in the back and watched the 4rth quarter.

Now, Cains on a Saturday night, and especially when its a hockey night.....is packed with Penguins fans. Crosby jerseys everywhere. I highly doubt that many of these people have more than a passing interest in college football, and even less interest (on the surface anyway), for Pitt football.

and yet, when Blewitt nailed the kick, Cains Saloon erupted. Imagine a Crosby game winner in overtime in the playoffs.....that's what it sounded like.

I mention this not so much to talk about where i was but rather what i experienced. I remain convinced, if this program could break out, the city will stand in line to jump on the Pitt bandwagaon.

That night at Cains proved it to me once again.

We were on the visitors side high up around the 30 yard line. What a game! H2P

@bayardstreet was unsure how to post a personal video, so I created this link. This is him capturing the game winner from his seat in Death Valley. A pretty cool experience for sure. I’m sure others have a story. What’s yours?

I was in Israel, on the syrian border trying like hell to watch online through a crappy internet feed, I did not even see the kick yet and my son called me screaming that we won, as my feed was about a minute behind. My son was only 11, so it was a very cool moment, albeit like 3 am for me and I had to get up at 5.

I was pacing down our private Lane with my fingers in my ears.

Clearly struggle with pressure during PITT games.

 😂

Standing in the top row of Memorial Stadium with my son who was 16 at the time. We then sprinted down the ramps to get onto the field. My favorite picture is of the two of us under the goal post. After being at many Pitt related traumatic events during his childhood (Notre Dame phantom PI call, Cincinnati 45-44, Kemba, Butler at the Verizon Center, etc.) this was a really special father/son moment!

I don't have a great story. I just watched it with my two young sons. We just talked about this yesterday with my brother in-law because he is a team police officer. Great memory even though not a great story.

On the other hand , I got to watch the WVU upset in a hotel bar in Morgantown. My wife had us invited to a wedding and since I knew nobody, she told me to go to the hotel bar and watch it. Totally packed. I was the only Pitt fan. It's nice to hear the clemson fans were nice, WVU fans.....not so much . Sorry for straying from subject

I was on a flight from Vegas to Newark. The game started about 15 minutes before we boarded. I bought the WiFi so I could watch the game. A few minutes later I read the fine print and realized that I couldn’t stream it. I had to follow the gamecast on ESPN. I must’ve refreshed the screen 100 times in the last few minutes.

I kept tellin em All Paws Matter

I was at home and watched most of the game by myself. My wife got home in the middle of the third quarter with my then two year old daughter. I made sure that she was with me when we lined up for the kick. I scared her with my over the top reaction when it went in. But after that we had a dance party for at least 20 minutes, and I don’t dance. Once everything calmed down I rewinded the game so I could hear the post game interviews. By this time it was dark and we were watching the next game. All of a sudden a light was shining in our house. I thought someone was getting a delivery and it was a ups truck. Then about a minute later there was a loud pound in our door. It was the Monroeville police. They stated that they received a call for a domestic disturbance. My wife and I busted out laughing and I said the only domestic disturbance was that Pitt just beat Clemson. So I guess that I scared someone else other than my daughter with my celebration.
