The funny thing is that Pickett clearly wasn't ready for the snap. The center was smart enough to know that he had to snap the ball right after the ref blew the whistle to start the play, but Pickett didn't. Had the center waited for Pickett to call for the ball the clock would have run out before we got the play off.
