I voted for Hamlin. Not that I think he will take the biggest step forward on that list, but I HOPE he and every other DB takes a big step forward. Otherwise, another 8-4 season with a loss in a meaningless bowl game...... or worse.

I think he'll be very good in the run game, but I think he'll really help the DBs in the pass coverage.

Matthews has all of the tools to be a great WR in the passing and blocking game. There were several instances of Matthews pushing a defender down the field 15-20 yards, allowing Henderson, etc. to run free. On the receiving end, he has a considerable size advantage over most DBs and Ss; hopefully the staff looks to exploit that size advantage early and often.

Mathews had the longest block I've ever seen, last year against Clemson. On Pitt's last TD, Conner swept right and ran it in from the 20. The whole time, Mathews had the CB pinned near the pylon. Conner ran right past Mathews' back heels and the CB was frozen, completely sealed off by Mathews. If you never noticed it, go watch the Clemson game highlights on Youtube. Its a thing of beauty. I think Pitt will have 3 or 4 during the season after this year. The tough task is learning to play together the first 3 to 5 games. I think improvements on DLs by Charlie Partridge Coaching will make it easier as well as more DBs bigger, stronger, and quicker at all 4 positions will develop as well. If not then like Reed Kohberger says Pitt may be looking for a New DC of course may not have to look past Pitt Partridge!

QB Browne is the key and i put up the poll to see what Posters think and fewer not naming him or the Tight End. If Max can be just adequate without making mistakes, and protected by OL, Pitt has the Weapons to have a another Great Offensive year, but OC Watson has to make that happen as well.

The first 4 games YSU, PSU, OKST, and GT are the keys and whether Pitt Coaching can match all the Players Back for Franklin, Gundy, and Johnson might be seen how Pitt handle's YSU Pelini so early and he has many back too, and some going to the NFL again. Most Coaches say the biggest improvements are seen from game 1 to 3 and boy is that going to ever be true of Pitt in 2017?

After that, Pitt should be showing steady improving and have a nice closing against UNC, VT, and Miami if key injuries can be avoided!

This is why I say, I am happy Terrific Lamont Wade chose PSU over any other Program, and if he felt Pitt Was Not The Right Fit, respect it, and, so be it!

I am telling you yeah, some of us are way too old, but we still know that Pitt, Penn State, WVU and Notre Dame are better together, and now how everyone can look forward to Penn State Wayward Wade 5 Stars Whirlwind is up against Pitt's Apostle's Matthews!
