Pitt-ND Game Predictions

ND - 37
Pitt - 20

I predict we keep it close, but ND ends up pulling away.

I hate to be Negative Nancy, I really do.
But, let’s be real.

The game may be close for 1-2 quarters but they are too big and talented in key positions, most notably upfront- oh ya, and at ALL skill positions.

The Hall wildcat might be cute (ya, I said cute) enough to buy us some yardage and keep them off balance for some time but ND will figure it out in time and likely sooner than later.

What will we do then?

We might need to throw a forward pass to convert 3’rd and longs. This is where things could get ugly.

I see Notre Dame putting up 40+ and a final score of 45-17, similar outcome to UCF... only we don’t have our Captain and best Defensive player. Ouch.

I hope to God I’m wrong, but just typing with my eyes and brain. Reading panther-lair has eroded my positivity unfortunately. I need to listen to Mark May’s predictions more I think.

Hail to Pitt!

Tough night for Pitt. 42-17. Really wish I felt otherwise but it just feels like a bad match up. I was a lot more confident in other games this year. Speed at the skill positions especially QB has been unkind to Pitt.

Pitt 13
ND 9
Just when you’ve accepted the mediocre, Pitt pulls out a game like this. Vandy took the Irish to the mat.

Some game this weekend some team will score a mediocre 44.. or is the number 44 mediocre..

Agree. Our offense is terrible. Notre Dame will load the box to stop the run, and will blitz like hell on passing downs, so we won't be able to pass. I just don't see Watson calling a game where he keeps their defense off-balance. Hopefully Pickett doesn't get killed.

My heart says losing Q will ignite a passion and focus unlike other games to carry us to a win, but my brain says it's woodshed time. Either way ill be screaming out H2P at 2:30 pm tomorrow. Ride or die with my guys!

No upset this year

Our passing game is non existent and ND is bound for the CFP.

Over at halftime, get 9 holes in before dark

45-13 Irish

That was without Book or Williams.

Without Book & Williams, ND was 109th in offense. With Book & Williams ND is 14th in offense.

ND average 23 ppg before against:
#14 UM
Ball St
Vandy

ND averages 46 ppg after, & that’s against:
at WF
#7 Stanford
at #24 VT

ND is a totally different team with Book & Williams.

Book just now qualifies for stats (minimum attempts) & is the 4th most efficient passer in the nation.
Williams doesn’t qualify yet (not enough carries yet) but if he did he would lead the nation in yards per game.

38-17 ND. PITT keeps it close in the first half with some big plays from Ffrench and RaRa in the receiving game. Unfortunately, I don't think this team can hang for four quarters against a team loaded on both sides of the ball.

Pitt marches down the field (mostly with run plays by Olison and Hall and one by Kenny) to score the first TD. Then a turnover by ND allows Pitt to get a field goal to go up by10 to start the game.

Pitt’s Defense then gives up 3 consecutive TDs while Pitt’s offense sputters.

Then a few trick plays (one including Aston) and a few turnovers and stops by Pitt’s D (including a pick 6 by Hamlin... or is it Jackson... or is it Ford)) allow our boys to climb back into the game. Then Olison and Aston drive Pitt down the field and Aston scores a big TD to tie it up at 24.

Pitt stops them with a 3 and out and Pitt gets the ball back with less than a minute... gets to the ND 40 where Kossman hits a 57 yarser wirh time expiring.

Pitt 27
ND 24

At least that’s what my heart is telling me.

My brain is laughing at my heart and is telling me

ND 38
Pitt 10

It’ll take Pitt perfect special teams, a trick play, and a couple takeaways from the D to stay close. Also, Pitt typically plays ND very close regardless of rosters. That being said; ND 37-27.

Notre Dame should win. They are better and they are at home. Still, Pitt needs to continue to improve off the Syracuse win. I say the Irish win 38-21.

Be prepared to be surprised. A lot like living in South Oakland. You think when you wake up, “Suns out / gonna be a great day” then you wake up from your black out walking home along Atwood Street, to Bates, to Dawson, and back to your house on Parkview Ave.

41-20 ND.

I see a much more representative showing than against PSU and UCF, just not enough talent on either side of the ball.
