Pitt/ND nooner

If it holds, this will be Notre Dame's only Noon game this year. For those of you that think Noon games don't matter, they do. More people nationwide watch the 3:30 and 7-8pm time slots. Those are coveted for a reason.

I'd rather win than play in a coveted time slot

If playing at noon gives us any advantage to win, then I'll take it

ND hasn't played at noon this year, and that's the only time we've played. Plus we're at home. I like the noon start.

If both win and it gets ABC ( I'm also surprised that's not already a lock), it will do really well and will still be huge exposure for Pitt.

Pitt played night games for Akron and Iowa.

Here's the silver lining. No one is more used to noon kick offs than Pitt. ND is used to later start times...maybe we catch them a bit lethargic early on. I'm grasping at straws, but this concept isn't all that unusual (see West Coast NFL teams playing in the 1:00 PM EST time slot).

Let the bitching begin!

We have reason to. There is no reason why this shouldn't be a night game, worse case scenario 3:30.

For me personally, it really screws up my day. Now I can't go to the game as both my nephew and niece are getting confirmed that day. That is 4 Pitt fans that would have attended 3:30 (would have been rough to make but doable) or later, that now will be watching 2nd half only.

I'm going to try a conspiracy theory because the noon starts makes no sense considering the crap they arw putting on in primetime.

Noon = less rabid fans, easier environment to play in, possibly better chance of ND victory (lost last 2 night games at Heinz). ESPN needs ND to keep winning to potentially make CFP. ESPN makes more money when ND is winning games.

I cant think of any reason why MSU/Neb and OSU/Min were picked.

What about people that couldn't make it to the later games?

Time for the Notre Dame football team to set its alarm clocks.

The Nov. 7 road game at Pittsburgh will kick off at noon EDT and be broadcast on either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2, the school announced Monday. This comes a week after No. 9 Notre Dame's road game at Temple on Saturday, which will kick off at 8 p.m.

Pittsburgh (6-1) is no stranger to early starts, as the Panthers are slated to kick off six games at 1 p.m. or earlier in 2015. Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly is 2-1 in his Irish career in noon games.

50% of Brian Kelly's noon ND games will be played at Heinz Field. Nobody gets screwed on start times more than Pitt. An Ohio State 50 point cakewalk over a HS team over Pitt/ND?

Non is probably the kick off time for teams that don't get big ratings, so why would they put ND there? You'd think that ND would get bigger ratings than a lot of the matchups mentioned above.

3:30 ACC game is FSU vs Clemson. Not hard to believe that the conference would pimp that one more than Pitt vs ND

Geez, Pitt is playing Notre Dame, go to the game and quit whining already...I guess to some degree I can understand the disappointment of folks coming from far away but any locals here whimpering are pretty sad. Hey, extra hours of daylight post game tailgating after a huge victory is not to be dismissed lightly and should be seen in a positive light. Man, sometimes Pitt fans don't see a glass as half empty or half full they don't even see the glass at all! I'm coming in from about 3 1/2 hours out and my biggest concern is the timing of my morning dump being severely disrupted and the thought of taking one in a porta potty looms..
