-And further puts the stamp as Pitt has the greatest All Time team Ever

-Larry Fitzgerald has moved into 3rd place in total career NFL receptions and 10th All Time in receiving yards. He also signed a contract extension. If he plays 2 more years without injury, he will be 2nd All Time in total yards and receptions, only to Jerry Rice. Rice also played into his 40's. Fitzgerald is 32 and has played 12 seasons. Rice played 20 seasons.

-Aaron Donald is named the most dominant player in the Entire NFL for the 2nd year in a row. If he keeps this pace he will go down as the greatest lineman of All Time.

https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-best-player-in-the-nfl-this-season-is-aaron-donald-again/

-LeSean McCoy is going to get his 5th Pro Bowl with ease. He's on the verge of breaking 9000 rush yards in the NFL at the age of 27, which is ridiculous. Buffalo already locked him up the next 5 years. If he keeps anywhere near the same pace he is on now, he will be in the Top 5 in rush yards All time by the Age of 32. Not only does that put him in the Hall of Fame with Ease, it puts him in the discussion with All Time Greats if he keeps the pace he is on.

-Andy Lee is now 9th All Time in Punt Yards

-Way to rep Pitt, who's the next All Time great?

Nice prediction on Kithcart by the way. Guy can't shoot at all including 1 of the worst foul shooting point guards I think Pitt has ever had.

Twyman next recruit.

-I think he is close. But the big one to watch is potentially AJ Davis. We are hitting Florida hard. Athletes, go after and get the athletes. Need to get these 2.

-By the way, I remember arguing with a few of you last year about how recruits look up to certain players in the NFL. Aaron Donald is the perfect example. Twyman loves him, so does Garbutt. When you put Elite Talent that dominates in the league, you sell that to recruits that that can be them in the future with hard work.

Have no idea when Davis will make a decision. Also have no idea if he comes our way.

If I'm correct, Pitt had 10 players either start for NFL teams today or play for the majority of the game

QB Tom Savage
RB Dion Lewis, LeSean McCoy
WR Tyler Boyd, Larry Fitzgerald
OT TJ Clemmings
DL Aaron Donald, Jabaal Sheard
CB Darrelle Revis
P Andy Lee

Not too many schools can say that. Recruits should take that into consideration when deciding on where to go. Pitt has a long and impressive record of sending players to the pros and having good careers.

I have some hope Tom Savage can be a decent NFL qb. He has been injury prone and has injury issues but a team like Houston really needs an intelligent tactician/game manager and that he is. He has the chance to be the best NFL QB from Pitt since....Van Pelt? Lytle? For as much success as we have had getting guys into the NFL, it sure would be good to have a few QBs as well. I think Peterman will latch on somewhere as a backup or 3rd string to start his career.

It is a shame that this fairly middling and mediocre program, if you would put together an all time team really does stack up against anyone, Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, USC, Oklahoma, Florida, Texas......

Seriously you could put Pitt's all time team up there and it would be a top 5 program. Just it never really translated except for a few years to success on the field in college.

If u take away 1991-96, then Pitt is a Top 30 type program. Just basing this on results. I feel like Pitt fans do not give enough credit to the positive and dwell on the negative.

74-83 Pitt was an elite program
84-90 Pitt was a pretty good program
91-96 Pitt was a terrible program
97-16 Pitt was a pretty good program

Nice game by Dion Lewis today against a great defense. Carried the pile for extra yards on multiple occasions.

This is far from being an original thought, but....Pitt's very own administration has caused Pitt to lose waaay more football games than any of the teams on its schedule. If Pitt's administration would've given the football team even half of the support that the better teams of the NCAA have gotten from their administrations, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Personally, I think that it's rather remarkable that if you've been a Pitt fan, you had the opportunity to see such talented players as Danny Marino, Tony Dorsett, Mark May, Curtis Martin, Shady McCoy, Larry Fitzgerald, Aaron Donald, Darrell Revis, Hugh Green, Chris Doleman, Rickey Jackson, Russ Grimm, et al.

Sure, a lot of universities have produced NFL players. But very, very few have produced as many outstanding, "Hall of Fame -quality" players as The University of Pittsburgh.

State is killing us in recruiting along with most of the ACC......

This stuff is fun to read but really means close to squat-diddley in terms of W L and recruiting.

We need to get/keep the type of coaches who can match the great individual talent put out now and then.

Huh??? No sure who you meant Osu has had top 10 recruiting for 5 years now and the peds womy their first victory against us last week in recruiting. Killing us certainly isn't true. Hamlins recruitment was far bigger was on TV and everything. We beat them there then got Matthews and then weaver and had several players asked time fluorescent and lost no one. We killed then head to head last year in recruiting

Im.watching head to.head, not sure what you are watching. Is this because Wade didn't choose Pitt?? Matthews Hamlin Pugh weaver and all the guys Franklin tried to flip last year, already explained it it isn't difficult to understand

Overall which is what counts

And they are killing it.
End of story

Good we got one or two against them but nobody is going to argue we are recruiting at their level

Nobody.

I don't think that last one is true. We have been average, at best, for a P5 program over that time period.

They have a top 10 recruiting class. Are you kidding me? And, you are just talking "head to head"? Well, we offered essentially every player in their recruiting class.

These are the type of posts that are EXACTLY the same stuff you see on BWI and people like Teh Teh, 9nationalchamps, pittmeister, and the like make fun of "JoeBots" and "NitWits" for. You can hate Penn State and still be rational and honest.

What I was watching was Pitt beating them on the field of play...with our lower ranked players.
Oh that's great and we'll beat them next year too I have a feeling.

The discussion with this guy was about recruiting however.
State is or will be top 10 and we aren't close to that. Not even sniffing it.
That kind of talent usually produces and pays off .....

In fact don't they already have an 11 win season and a slot in one of the best bowl games on the board?

It's been this way on this board for years, certain posters just don't seem to want to accept reality.

Nobody dislikes Farmers College of PA more than I do but how about keeping it real???

They're on a roll and Big Mouth is killing it in recruiting.
Bet that

Wake me when this matters for Pitt's W-L record.
Exactly, I'd rather have less NFL success and a few more 10 win seasons. I stop rooting for them as soon as they leave the team unless they would join the Steelers.

What happened to Tyler Boyd yesterday? Anyways, I'm glad he was invisible vs. the Steelers.

Penn State has been getting higher rated recruiting classes for years. What really matters is what happens on the field. Pitt dominated both lines of scrimmage and won the game. It was great.

Like the reality that despite having lower rated recruiting classes Pitt beat PSU on the field of play? Isn't that really the point?

We need better recruiting classes, that's the point. Penn State is going to the Rose Bowl and we are going to the Pinstripe Bowl playing a bad Northwestern team. That's also the point. We have MAC level players all over our defense. That's the last point.
