***Pitt @ Va Tech Game Thread***

can't shoot, can't defend... softest squad I can ever recall @ PITT... leaving plenty of doubt.

This is just an inexplicably poor performance all the way around in all aspects against a poor team. I doubt VT wins 6 league games this year and one of them is against us. Just very poor game preparation, execution and energy. Some of that has to be on the players, because we don't have the talent we thought we might have, but most of the blame is squarely on the coaching staff and Capel.

I think we can put the Lowe to the NBA after this year talk to the rest.

2 assists is unacceptable even for a college PG. He won't be going to the NBA. I had high expectations for him this year, but it's not happening. The down side is that he may not be back here next year either with the hot mess that is college sports now.

Very much like that we won, but this was a pathetic display nonetheless. And I thought we got most of the calls, which helped. Hopefully this team figures things out. Kudos to Lowe for the max effort, which was the difference between winning and losing.

Impressive comeback. They looked dead in the water. Lowe driving the ball to the rim was impressive, and vital.

Should never have been close, ever.

Let's hope that Dunn really is the key to this team's success, and that we can hold on for dear life until he comes back.

That's as frustrating a win as you'll see. All credit to JLowe for carrying us to the W. The bad news is Austin didn't look good. If he's down, we are in big, big trouble.

Very solid road win. Metrics with Dunn predicted 8-9 pt win so not sure why people expecting a 20 pt Pitt blow out. College basketball hard to win on road. Shooting will even out.

Exactly.

Young is a decent coach, first conference game.
He schemed us really well , including bracketing Lowe to take away his left drive
Also packing the paint to prevent the kick outs .
We made it easier by missing so many open looks

I liked their offensive sets too. Wish we would run some stagger screens to get Cummings and Deliac looks , rather than just floating

Capel made a great defensive adjustment down the stretch to ramp up the ball pressure . It disrupted their sets and got us some very needed run outs !
