Is this game being shown locally in Pittsburgh on the ACC network? Im watching on accx here.The softball tournament is on acc network.
The other catcher is better. He played well behind the dish and hit a home run today. I like Bell and he has done an excellent job, but didn’t like taking Smith out or replacing the catcher.
Quite honestly - our guys have overachieved. The biggest difference between NC State and Pitt is hitting. Their lineup is loaded with guys batting over .300 and close to 10 home runs.
The bullpen is the toughest position group to build in this conference just because it demands the most depth. They added a decent amount of portal help that has made it better than last year, but it’s definitely the area that’s both hardest to build and easiest to get hurt with.
They’re a pretty good fielding team, though. Third-best fielding percentage in ACC play and the third fewest errors. Not sure where they sit in some of the advanced metrics, but they’ve been pretty good in the standard measurements.
These 2 loses have been tough. Gotta take tomorrow.

Down 5-1 to them today. Not to be a “Pitting” Debby downer, but it is just maddening how Pitt can’t beat this school in anything. Even when they have a better team in something.
edit: ok, they did beat them in volleyball. But basketball, football, baseball, softball, wrestling? L’s all over and that’s just 2020-21. Pretty sure they’ve got some serious losing streaks that go years back in most of those sports, particularly in basketball.

NC State is still a talented team, and are more talented than we are. It’s important to remember that for all of the success we’ve had this year, we’re still a Cinderella story based on our talent level compared to the rest of the conference.
Yeah NC State is just a better team. Probably need to find a way to win 1 out of 3 instead of getting swept but it’s not at all “Pitting”
What we are is very experienced. We have a TON of 5th and even a 6th year guy who have played a lot of baseball so we’ve played better than our talent level overall.
