I think they are playing too many people in an attempt to figure out what the best rotation is. For instance in the Rutgers game, by the first media timeout Pitt had already played 10 players. That is a ridiculous number to play in the first five minutes of a game. At some point they have to (barring foul trouble and injuries of course) trim the rotation down to eight or maybe nine.
BTW, if you watched it, I didn't see the first quarter, so did the game announcers introduce themselves at the beginning? Because I am guessing that they had to be two Ball State students doing the gig as a school project or something. Because they were bad. Really, really bad. They can't be "professional" broadcasters in any sense of the word.
Playing so many doesn’t help the turnover situation, but I suspect Coach White will continue playing at least 10. He likes pressure defense, rebounds, and fast play.
And don’t forget that Cynthia is finishing re-hab and waiting to start playing. She’s a tough rebounder, so she’ll play, IMHO.
I imagine they’ve been a bit disappointed in what they’ve gotten offensively from the center position. So many missed put-backs. But I expect to see at least 3 centers play - so they can stay fresh to run the floor.
Starters - Rita, AB, Liatu, Jayla and Day.
-I expect to see Emily’s minutes decline as Day plays more. Emy and Clesca backups.
-Strother, it depends on if she gets her shot back. They were very high on her pre-season.
-Exanor is too long and too athletic to sit, even if she goes in mainly for defensive purposes.
-Hueston may play less when Cynthia returns…
I like how they can rest the starters (and re-habbers) and still get some production…
Go Pitt.
