After the WF debacle, I wasn't sure what we'd see today against
a ranked Syracuse team. Well, for 3 Qtr's we were clearly the better
team IMO. Our D was good keeping them in check and offensively
we looked much improved from the WF game. The A/TO ratio wasn't
the usual killer today as we were an improved 14/16. Now here's a first;
Syracuse was much worse...7/13. That had something to do with their
not so hot performance. They didn't look like a ranked team, and giving
credit to our players, we had something to do with it.

The stats that killed us.....Cuse shot 21 FT's and made 18, we only went to the
line 12 times and made 10. Excellent shooting by both teams....but 21 attempts
to our 12? 3 pt shooting, both teams were off, but they made 7 to our 3. We
were 17% on our threes. FT's and 3 pt shooting were major factors determining
the point difffential in this game.

Marley W, 0 pts today, and only 2 Assists with 4 TO's. She only attempted 3 shots
but considering her shooting ability, she shouldn't take many more. Lets see,
Malcolm our designated shooter...1-8 FG's, Threes, 0-6. Yeah I know, I know, it's
Verdi's fault and his poorly designed sets. Well, just ignore those stats and write
it off as yesterday's poster telling me that I'm mean and not caring for these girls.
She was better in the A/TO category with a 2/1 ratio. King had another monster
game with 29 pt's. They weren't gimmies either as she's being closely guarded
and double teamed. Perkins hit all 3 of our threes. Battle is showing she has some
game. I'd like to see her be more assertive and shoot more (3-6 FG's).

If this were a 3 QTR game we woulda won it. We looked good during that time.
The fourth Qtr? Well, if you watched it you saw it. Syracuse woke up and
scored 22 pts. Our 4 pts in that same QTR? I'll let someone else on here
explain it.

Down two, just over two minutes to go in the game, and Syracuse turns the ball over. Our shooter, the one that doesn't pass up open shots, she just never gets any because we don't run enough sets for her, catches the ball right at the three point line. By college basketball standards, she has an open look. She passes it up, giving the ball to our 13% three point shooting point guard. Who takes the three, and shoots an air ball.

In the 4th quarter, a Liatu King put back of a missed shot at 6:53 left in the game, and then a King layup with 2:36 left in the game. No other points. In the 4th, King 2-5 from the field, everyone else, 0-10, including 0-6 on threes.

Awe you for me. Ha ha ha. Somebody hit a nerve! Come on guys now you can do better than that right. Have you ever listen to Kara Lawson when describing one of her players who has been having a shooting slump. She describes what else she brings to the court. Like rebounding assits, a block, facilitated, hustled on both the sides of the court, got the ball inside and played good defense and never came out of the game

This is too fun…

They all played a great game, they were competitive gave it all they had

Would have been a heck of a win today.

Didn’t see the game but noticed that Jala Jordan apparently didn’t play. She would have added some offense…

I will say that I have been impressed by the attitude of the players. I was at the WF game and they sure do support each other — and everyone gives good effort.

I had attended that one open practice they had and I must say that I wondered if Coach Verdi would lose them. I suspected that he was considerably more demanding than their previous coaching. But the team’s attitude has been commendable.

Now if we can only hit the mark on some recruits/transfers to address the missing pieces.

Go Pitt.

Agree. We've been saying all year how they hustle, and seemingly
have very good attitudes. The team chemstry appears excellent,
and that's not easy when a team is having a difficult year based
on losses.

Is Timmerson still with the team? Injured? Since Battle is back playing,
Timmerson is nowhere to be seen.

Timmerson is still there. She just hasn't played lately.

To the second half of your statement, absolutely. As I said before, they are giving all they have every night.

To the first half of your statement? They just lost to a team that literally played one good quarter of basketball. So yeah, pretty clearly they all played great.
