The 24th-ranked Pitt men’s basketball team knows it entered the season fighting an uphill battle in terms of becoming nationally relevant or opening eyes around the country.

The Panthers were angry they were picked to finish 10th in the ACC. Not only that, they didn’t understand it, either, after bringing back many of their key contributors.

But now at 12-1, with a comeback win a week ago against Syracuse in their conference opener, the Panthers are ready and willing to prove they’re for real, andMonday’smove into the Top 25 for the first time in two seasons could serve as a springboard for that.
