Pittsburgh dad sucks

It was, I don't spend my life agonizing over people's perception of Pitt,
Riiiiiight - like if he showed up at someone else's game I'd be bent over laughing.

He's NOT FUNNY. But hey - different strokes for different folks. Have at it.

He had a few good skits when he first came onto the scene, but became stale quickly. He is flat out awful now.

Like every every CBS sitcom. I swear their target demographic is 70+.

Personally I think all sitcoms stink anymore no matter if they are on network or one of the steaming services. It seems like there hasn't been a good sitcom since the mid 2000's.

Veep, modern family , flea bag, schitt’s creek, etc all funny

Never heard of flea bag. The other shows have their moments, but not must see tv imo. There are no Cheers, Seinfeld, King of Queens, Friends, Family Matters, Home Improvement, Married w/ Children,Everybody Loves Raymond; on today. At best, today's sitcoms rank with Whose the Boss and Growing Pains.

Family Matters? You are going to name a TGIF sitcom and it isn't Perfect Strangers?

I was a kid in late 80s early 90s. My 12 yo son and I just got done with Home Improvement last winter and now we are are watching Family Matters this winter. Great shows still.

A week late to the party but I was at a bar with (obviously) sound on the Steelers game and not on the Pitt game. Was fine with it for that segment. The Pittsburgh Dad character strikes me more as a Penn St fan or something.

I think all of us, or at least all of us with a sense of humor, can agree that the best way to watch a Pittsburgh Dad segment would be with the sound from something completely different.

Not sure if true but was told Pittsburgh Dad is a HUGE WVU fan. Hates both Pitt and PSU.

He's pretty funny sometimes. Didn't see yesterday's bit.

He was a WVU Theatre major -- not sure if he actually graduated or not but he attended WVU. I don't find him funny but then Yinzerese annoys me....

Thanks, that explains a lot. He really isn't just playing a character, he really is stupid.

"Preksta, a native of Munhall and a graduate of Point Park University and Pittsburgh Filmmakers, serves as director.[2][3] Wootton, a native of Greensburg, Pennsylvania who graduated from West Virginia University, plays the "Pittsburgh Dad".

I find some of his stuff funny. My son thinks I am like him sometimes. The skit where he goes around turning off all of the lights cracks me up, as I do that all the time. He takes out the rubbish and turns around and the whole house is lit back up "like the Griswolds at Christmas".

That and the vacation drive to the beach. "No stops til Sheetz at Breezewood".

Now his bit on the game broadcast was shockingly unfunny. He could have grown his audience by having some pro-Pitt funny lines ready. No need to diss the audience he was playing to.

Exactly.

My sister-in-law bought me a candle of his scented as Hills Snack Bar.

I said who is Pittsburgh Dad?

She was crestfallen... couldn’t believe a guy living in Vegas hadn’t heard of this national treasure.
