One month out from ACC Championships, our postseason outlook is interesting ATM.
NCAA Locks: Evans, Augustine, Heller, Stout
Likely: Pitzer, Solomon
TBD: Babin, A.Santaniello, Keslar
Has to make something happen at ACC's: V. Santaniello
This team should send a good contingent to Philly, but the time missed with injuries for some guys and inconsistency could end up in a stressful ACC tournament on March 9th. If Pitzer had more matches this year I would be more confident in him qualifying no matter what, and I think he will qualify, but the Neves loss hurts his at-large case and ACC seed. I personally think that 7+ guys will get a bid, but depending on how exactly the allocations work out we could have a tough draw for ACCs.

Going to bump this with one match left.

125: Babin is 8-7 on the year and won't earn an allocation. He is the 4 seed in the ACC at best and as it stands will have to steal an allocation from VRob, Eddie V or Moore. He is a maybe for an At-large but I wouldn't count on it.
133: Vinnie will be a low seed at ACCS and has no shot at earning an at-large bid. He will have to get an allocation, (as it stands Orine doesn't have one yet at 133, if he gets one there will be 4 up for grabs)
141: As it stands he is looking to take an allocation. As it stands the ACC would have 4 but they have some guys on the borderline, a win against UVA helps his seed and he could maybe get an at-large if some things go his way.
149: As it stands there are 5 allocations for the 5 best ACC wrestlers. Gioffre from UVA is sneaky good and a win next week for Finn would be huge for seed/securing allocation purposes. Finn will likely get an at-large even if he comes up short at ACCs.
157: Evans is at a weight where a lot can happen. Currently 4 spots allocated, but Santiago from UNC is someone who could get a 5th allocation or steal one from someone else. He will likely be a 1, 2 or 3 seed at ACCs and should be able to get it done.
165: Keslar just got a huge win over Church. At the latest update the ACC had 5 spots and none of them were Keslar's. I really think he can get a spot and maybe even earn an at-large if necessary.
174: Luca just put his ACC seed in jeopardy. As it stands there are only 3 allocated spots for a weight class with 5 very good guys. He would get an at-large if necessary I think but it could get risky if the next allocation update isn't kind to the ACC.
184: As it stands there are three spots for the top 4 guys at 184, but Heller is a lock to get in at-large barring some insane circumstances
197: Stout is in. I think he wins the ACC and makes any allocations talk irrelevant.
285: There should be 4 allocations at this weight if all holds. That will mean Pitzer just has to match his regular season results to qualify, he would get an at-large likely anyway.

As it stands I am confident at 6 of the weights, optimistic about 1 (165) and unconvinced about 3 (125-141) in terms of making it to Philly

Solid analysis, but it is hard to predict at-large bids until the dust settles after conference tourneys.

Assume that means MRS for Vinnie. Chappell has looked solid but needs to steal an allocation at ACCs to make NCAAs.
Yea, he was talking to me about it last night, he is confident he can pull an upset and sneak in so thats a good thing. You're being nice, I know he hasnt quit and has been fighting hard but its hard for me to say he has looked solid in more than two matches at 133. He has Friday night and two weeks to improve. Weighing only about 135, he is small for the weight, but thats not excuse.

I agree with you that he has some work to do, the top 3 guys (Knox, Orine, McGonagle) will be tough asks regardless but I think he can beat anyone else at the weight. Friday will be big as a second ACC win will help his seed/confidence

Unfortunately there's no way to get the year back with the timing of the injury.
He has not competed since 12/20, Yonger Bastida competed on 12/21 and has apparently been granted a MRS. Understand Vinnie's injury could have happened later than that but with how often they seem to give them out these days I would think he would be able to qualify having not competed in the new year.

It goes by number of events not competition date.
