Crazy things happen with college kids. Weren’t we losing to Alabama St or something like that a couple years ago and then we went onto turning it around.
Miss St pulled it out but I really don’t understand what issue you are taking with this post to be honest. Posting this score from a past opponent who crushed us seems to be of interest.
I think there are quite a few on here right now trying to discredit the team.
I don’t think anyone wants to discredit our team. To be fair, it’s a concerning result from a team who beat us by 33. Time will tell how good we end up being, but I believe it’s completely reasonable to understand why people are posting concerns.
Obviously the transitive property is pretty useless in sports, and this means nothing on Pitt’s season but it is pretty crazy that the team we watched last Wednesday only ended up winning this game 91-84.

so is WVU beating Gonzaga a good thing then? Ohio State blown out by Maryland, but then whooping Rutgers? Prairie hit 10/19 3’s and are a 1-8 team now….pitt had a Torvik game score of 8 at Miss State who had a 100 versus Pitt. Miss state had a game score of 15 today. Teams have off nights. That is all.
Especially after a big win, when the next game is against someone like Prairie View.
It had to be hard for them to get up for the game mentally. Heck, it can be hard for pros to get up for a game after a big win, let alone college players.
I completely agree — but I don’t see anything wrong with posting the Miss St Prairie View score either.
Yeah, this guy is bizarre. I didn't even post any conclusions.
It's a very of interest score.
But, what I could mention is that this board looked like how the football board melting down usually does after that loss. That or Miss St is 1990 unlv (or whatever year they were really good) seemed to be some of the conclusions. I don't think they're as talented as some thought after Wednesday night.
Edit to add - I do question this Pitt team's toughness. Guillermo is tough, he's just a twig and gets pushed around. Some others are questionable.

I would not discredit this team yet, even after some poor performances lately. I had this as Capel's best team pre-season.
I would and I have discredited Pickett for quiting before the Peach Bowl. Edit to add - I'm sure you had that name before Kenny did that, so can't pick on you for having it. Up until that point, he was an absolute favorite Panther of mine.

I think this result lends credence to the fact that they used the ncaa tournament loss to us as real motivation. They were jacked for us and ready for our game big-time. We,on the other hand, were in game 4 of a gauntlet part of the schedule after winning a hard fought game before on a last second 3. I think that helps explain what happened to us a bit. It doesn't change the fact that our team is weak inside, but, indeed Miss. ST. IS not some juggernaut. We of course, will be fine. Let's get Dunn back in their soon and show what we can do!
I can’t remember an ass beating like the one we took last week. It was every facet of the game. Looked like men against boys from the onset.
Wake last year was a ass beating. Shit happens. Pitt destroyed WV and most on this board came on bashing WV as a terrible team. But that was not true. Some of you, base a team on the result of the game played on the night. It doesnt matter what sport. Fans will overreact to each game, one way or the other.
Seems like this happens all the time to Pitt football and basketball. We play a team who looks like a pro team against us then the next game, they look like a HS team. I'll say again that that Miss St game was so bizarre. MSU is good but they looked about as good as anyone we've played the last decade. It was like they were possessed or something. Cant even explain it. Its like they took some super quick-acting performance-enhancing drug. It was like playing NBA 2K on the hardest level. I feared for the safety of our big guys as that Nwoko dude looked like he could seriously hurt them.
We have been blown out before but I cant remember a blow-out quite like that. Sometimes you cant make a shot and that happens but in watching that game, I seriously thought we'd play an NBA team closer. Mississippi State looked about as good as a college team can actually look.

2019 against Delaware. If we didn't complete a 4th down pass to Mack, we lose to an FCS Delaware team that finished 5-7.
Pitt won, 17-14. Delaware lost its next game to Elon, 42-7.
Agree about the Mississippi State game, though. It reminded me of a horror movie when an entire village turns into werewolves or something. We weren't even the same species as them. Felt way different from other blowouts where guys were just draining shots, etc.
But it is also what happens with most teams. They did not play well against Butler and got beat. They came back and played their ass off and kicked the crap out of us and then they slept walked through the Prairie View game.

Its just hard to describe that game. I felt we'd lose 100 out of 100 to them by at least 20 points. I was honestly thinking we'd be more competitive against the Celtics. Honestly. I don't think it was any type of revenge factor as none of those guys were on the team. But the crowd, for a non-con, midweem 8:15 start was LIVE like we were Kentucky and the players were liked caged animals who had been released. I'm just glad none of our guys were seriously injured because I've never seen a team play with that much, to use one of Capel's terms, force.
So yea, we didnt play well and if you dont play well on the road against what'll be a 9/10/11 seed, maybe you lose by 12 or 14. Of if you get beat worse than that, maybe its because you shot for 3-29 from 3. Those nights happen. But in this game, it looked like Miss St players all put $10K on the game.

Hahahaha I'm not him. Loved the name. He was in school same time as me. It was either that or "Chris Seabrook's Sweater Vest." Saw him outside Sutherland Hall on a warm day wearing a colorful sweater vest with no undershirt.

I was on the pay board in the late 2000s under a different name for a few years. I was at one of DTs game watches at Rock Bottom, and maybe another one. It's been so long it's hard to remember. I remember a poster with the word "moon" in his name who was there as well.
I remember Atwood2 being a decent poster. I remember geno2, and b-man also. I always liked them.
I think I got booted for arguing with somebody, and I said "well screw paying for that then." Came back not long ago.
