There is actually a post on the Penn State bored right now where someone named Nashville lion responding to a Michigan fan saying it's not worth losing your dignity. For a laugh I would suggest everyone check it out. This is a program that has absolutely zero dignity in the eyes of college football, and he is acting as if Penn State is some holier than thou program

I just can't believe people are surprised by their attitude still. When you have a fan base which places football above everything else (I realize there are a few sane people), this is the typical result.

Why does Penn St advertise so much? I am watching Pitt play North Carolina ( who Pitt beat the last two times against them ) and there is a commercial for Penn
St.

Btw. I never see Pitt commercials.

Because since 2009, freshman enrollment at McState branch campuses is down 10%. And consider that 51.3% of their systemwide freshman enrollment starts at their branch campuses, and that doesn't count 885 first time students enrolling in their World Campus, not to mention a couple thousand at Penn Tech. Seven of their branches are off well over 40 and 30%. One campus is down 59%. Only 4 of 19 are on the + side, with another essentially flat. They've had to start aggressive marketing campaigns everywhere but Erie and Harrisburg.

To be fair, Pitt-Titusville is really struggling too...and to a lesser extent UPJ and UPB are off on admission targets. But UPT is just a 2 year campus with only about 200 freshman per year at its peak, and it is competing in essentially the junior college space with tuition very much unlike a JC. UPT is in a very difficult position and Pitt has think carefully about what to do with it. BTW, only 28.9% of Pitt freshman start at a regional campus and far fewer of them transfer.

What is even scarier is their alumni elected trustee (Lubrano) posting updates to those lunatics and admitting that he thinks John Ziegler is doing good work. This is a guy who is supposed to be looking out for good of the school as a whole (not just football). If he is the norm of their board of trustees it's definitely a case of the inmates running the asylum.
