I saw the post about how Pitt fans were treated by Oklahoma State fan, that's great.

How many Pitt fans were there? What did you think of Boone Pickens Stadium and the campus? What did you think of Stillwater? How was the tailgating?

I liked everything except the first half of the game :)

I think their fans were down from the CMU game, and were happy that fans from Pitt were there. Now I was with kids, so didnt do anything you would consider fun (maybe?), but it was one of the more enjoyable experiences. Honestly didnt have a bad word at any of us, and I even had the feeling the people talking to us wanted to make a good impression (IE, they actually cared enough of their home to want to make outsiders know its a good place).

My estimate of the Pitt fans in attendance was 500-600, which is a bit smaller than a normal road crowd. The stadium was very nice--a big scoreboard in every corner, a great sound system, and seats close to the field. Concession and restrooms were plentiful and small to no lines. Their campus was nice, with plenty of real estate and room to grow--although other than their athletic facilities, nothing jumped out as a real eye-catcher. Their fans are/were simply some of the nicest hosts I've met--and I have traveled extensively following Pitt for a couple decades. I'm not a huge fan of rural small town schools, so Stillwater left a lot to be desired when it comes to air access, hotel and restaurant options. But if you like a college town and bar scene, Stillwater has that in spades--and all very friendly people with small town drink prices. Tailgating before the game was spread out, but again, people were very friendly and welcoming. I was offered more food and booze than just about any place I have visited. Tailgates were fun, but not over the top or rowdy. I'd rank the OKState fans right up there with the TXA&M, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Iowa fans. Likely will be the best road trip of this season...but I'll wait until after my visit to Clemson to cast the final ranking. Hail to Pitt!

Considering how far OK State is from Pittsburgh, it was a nice showing. Pretty much filled up the visitor section and there were many scattered in other places throughout the stadium. They probably had the nicest fans I've ever seen. All asked us about our trip here, how we're liking Stillwater, thanked us for coming (never heard this before), and wished us well going home.

The tailgating scene was nice and stadium was one of the coolest I've ever seen, very unique how the basketball arena is intertwined with the stadium and they use part of it for luxury suites, jumbotrons, etc. The Pitt locker room was in here too, so it was cool how you were able to see them walk all the way down to the entrance of the field. The stadium had good food and it was the closest ive ever seen a stadium to the playing surface.

It was kinda weird seeing all their fans dressed up as if they were going to church, and half of them had cowboy hats and belt buckles on as well. Overall it was a good time.

Although, the funniest part was hearing some locals saying that Pitt is going to be a suprise Big XII expansion team and how well we'd fit into the conference since we travel well.

So, they took one of those panoramic photos of the whole stadium. Did you guys get to see it over here?

It was fun to have a great program like Pitt come in for a visit. I tried to get some Pitt fans worked up about possible tornados during the storm delay, but they were from Wichita KS, so that didn't work. Hope those of you who made the trip were treated well and had a good time other than the result.

I think I mentioned this in another thread, but it was probably the least boozy road trip I've been on. There really weren't any rowdy, loud, or obnoxious OSU fans. They were enthusiastic during the game, but very civil otherwise.

For the record, the booziest group I've seen is Louisville.

Oh and this was one of the best things I've seen at an OSU game since I started attending in 1979. My two favorite Cowboy running backs!

And Louisville is a dry town.
