Reality :
Listen to JC and all he preaches is improvement not W’s !
Very few teams can rely on freshman and win in the ACC and Pitt isn’t one of them .
Two of the three freshman should still be in high school
The roster is flawed and has been for awhile
Any W the rest of the season is an accomplishment
This season restored hope and is a success no matter how the rest of the season goes . Pitt has a coach and three really good freshman to build around .

What if :
How about a lineup of
X and Trey ..at guards
Cam and Luther at forwards
Brown at center
Bench ..JWF , PS , Toney , MC
JC as coach
A lot better offensive fire power , size and bench . They still wouldn’t beat Duke , but definitely a lot further up the food chain in the ACC .

The Future :
X , Trey and Toney develop an outside game
Unless there’s tremendous improvement I don’t see any of the freshman leaving early . If one does it’s X , but he’s looking more like a talented freshman than a phenomenon
Brown continues to improve and gets help next yr by a grad transfer and then a top recruit in 2020
Next yr Pitt needs two grad transfers if not 3 , a big strong rebounder ( could use 2 of these ) and a shooter
NIT or bubble NCAA next season . Best chance at NCAA berth is with grad transfers not freshman
JC brings in a top 20 class in 2020
A nice run in the NCAAs.
JC brings in an even better class in 2021
A serious run in the NCAAs .

Good post. I agree with your point about grad transfers. If we can get a
few Bigs who are grad transfers, that would improve us immediately.
We can then concentrate on the elites in the 2020 class since we will
probably miss on them this year. We need another season of upward
mobility and more wins to show these elites that we're not an ACC cellar
dweller.
I'm certain opposing coaches are telling recruits we're still losers at the
bottom of the league. All Capel has is vision and promises at this point.
We on this board see the tremendous coaching and stellar play of our
three frosh. This will take a few years, but if we can make a sizeable
jump next year with some Big grad transfers.....it will happen sooner than
later.

X has NBA level speed, body and athleticism. He doesn't have a NBA level handle, passing or shooting yet. He won't be leaving early or at least until his Jr year if he developes.

I still have no doubt that next year's roster will be better than this year's roster.
