He wrestled tough, had a slight let down in consi-semis(wanted him to wrestle Botero) but still great job in a tough tournament.
Tyler DeKraker has committed to tOSU. He had taken an official visit here but I never thought we had a legit shot
I would hope they are after him but I haven't seen anything concrete. I know he visited NCST, Nebraska and Rutgers so far
Apparently Coach Headlee was at the Compound (Bassett's club) earlier this week. If this means they are trying to establish footing with the BMC crew that is a very good sign.
Figures, one of these days we’ll get somebody on staff that can recruit
& also crushed by Pitt back to back on the mat ! ! LOL
Can be such negative Ice Holes on here sometimes . Its sad or more pathetic that this forum has become place for a few "has been" or should I say more likely "never was been" to come and talk to 4 other similarly credentialed people about how bad the Pitt kids and coaches suck on regular basis. while completely overlooking or sometimes blatantly ignoring positives around the program that , frankly, the wrestling community outside some on this forum have noticed for sure. Just ask the Other div 1 coaches about Pitt right now . " Young, talented, team with a lot of potential that seems to be getting better and better and can wrestling with just about anyone in the country at almost every weight class . looking at top 15 team with top 10 potential with mostly Freshmen and sophomores in the line up. " that's from Div. 1 coach.. where is that on here?? and yes they get recruits. you cant do what they are doing without talent .. its in the room and more young talent coming in as well.
It’s never about being negative and the people that are on here that respond daily, it’s because they care and want to see this team succeed. that’s the point of a forum is to discuss negatives and positives and it’s never pointed directly at any individual kid that is busting his ass. It is regarding the program and when you wrestled, coached and saw the kids that come out of the hot bed of Wrestling and our program never being in the top 15(rarely)there’s a problem. What is it? That’s the question we all have. And again it’s all because we care very deeply. going to NCAA’s every year for the last 12 years wearing Pitt gear spending thousands of dollars and seeing few all Americans(nothing on a consistent basis). is it administration and lack of support, is it the coaching staff and developmental, RTC, or Nil Money. again that’s what this forum is for and what everybody discusses Because we wanna see this program succeed at the highest level.
Some posters think Pitt wrestling is amazing and some think Pitt wrestling sucks 😂 . Reality is Pitt is always a pretty good team and they have a good team this year. They have been fun to watch so far this year too. But people want to see them get to next level. I think that’s just a normal part of being a fan of any program.
Someone had a post on Ohio state match thread pointing this out and I thought it was a good point, Pitt is doing a good job of developing their guys and we are seeing guys that weren’t high ranked recruits having success and beating guys that were high ranked recruits. To get to the next level they need to get those high ranked recruits and that’s probably going to cost money in todays world. Also think Lehigh is benefiting from eastern pa being very strong the last two recruiting cycles, it would be good to see Pitt to get into eastern pa.

Good win over Paridon. Should boost his ranking. Marlow had a ranked win over Neal earlier. Has Burton next consensus top guy at the weight
Marlow lost 4-2, had the guys leg on the edge and couldn’t secure the takedown against the #1 ranked kid in the country. Awesome battle
Sidun wins 3-2 in Tiebreakers over Bachmann (#4 in country)

Marlow beat Sherlock, who is ranked sixth in the country for third place
Pitt had two commits at beast. Walsh who took 2nd at 138 and Marlow who took 3rd at 175. Sidun who is our top 2027 target took 1st at 120. All good things
Pitt will have a few more commits at Powerade in a few days. Brown, Marlow, petrovich and Turk (football) from the seeds I glanced over last night
Not brothers. Matt Marlow is from NY, bode is from Thomas Jefferson high school in the WPIAL
This would be a huge commit to land. Fingers crossed Pitt is on his list of possible schools.
Won’t be easy as he will likely have his pick of all the top schools.
It seems like a guy of that caliber you need to get early so as soon as he’s eligible to be recruited, get him before the big dawgs lurk and huge money get involved
Sidun is consistently around the program and has a good relationship with the athletes and coaches as well as some of our other commits. He is by far our best chance to ge one of these uber recruits
Matt Marlow’s older brother Jack is also on the roster at 149. He had a major injury right before the season however and has not wrestled yet this year

Excited to watch the Brown Brothers for years to come!! Great additions to Pitt. Hope they keep building that St. Ed’s pipeline.
