Ayden Smith of Becahi to Cornell He visited Pitt a couple weeks ago
Not surprised. Ayden isn’t one, but any top 50 recruits that come in, I have little faith that we land him. There’s no proof in the past and hopefully victory heights will help with that but I have to see it to believe it.
It’ll be more advantageous to discuss in person when there is a meet up, but statistically, as far as recruiting, I believe the rankings aren’t very accurate. Recruiting based off of rankings is also overblown. Have to recruit lifestyle kids who fit your coaching style and technique styles.

Off the top of my head Luca, stout, Pitzer and A Santaniello were all top 50 recruits. I think you need to land top 20 guys to get to next level tho.
Carson Walsh has committed. Pretty sure he is a Jersey kid. Can’t say I know too much about but will be watching some matches in the near future
It looks like he is 94 on Matscouts Big Board for 2025. Not many juniors have committed yet, so this is a pretty decent start to the 2025 class.
They have him projected to be a 141 which it looks like we have recruited the weight class pretty hard recently with Santaniello, Jackson Young, Kade Brown, and Joey Simon all projected to go 141 from the last 2 recruiting classes.
I also saw on the Penn state forum that Gauge Botero and Maddox Shaw both have Pitt in their top 2. Not sure how true that is, but it would be nice to land one of the two.

Bode Marlow from TJ commits (that last name seems to be attracted to Pitt wrestling!). Had a great off season with some national ranked wins. Expect to see him in the top 100 big board lists in the near future if he continues to ascend. Can’t hurt with Shaw either I’m assuming
He will be at Super 32 so he will have a shot at moving up and he will wrestling at 157 which is up from the previous 2 seasons.
5th in the state(#1 seed in tournament), 3rd place at beast of the east, beat Jackson young(Pitt commit) 3-0 in that tournament
makes no sense to me that we are recurring 4 wrestlers in the same weight class. Jackson Simon brown can't remember last one.
Doubtful they will all be same weight class. Walsh has two more years of high school. It’s hard to predict what weight class he would be. I remember Mac stout being a 170 pounder as a sophomore in HS. He’s now 197 in college.
Good kid and good family. Has a strong work ethic and think he will fit in. High character lifestyle kid.
Don't look at current high school weight classes these kids a competing at it is not always the best judge of what their college weight class will be and even it does you stack guys and who doesn't develop will transfers.
Seidel was open about VT being his number 1 going into visits. Guess nothing changed from his trips

It would be nice to land those guys but they aren’t really in our backyard. If anything, those are guys Lehigh should be getting.

Shaw is a Super 32 champs, Pitt has to keep that guy at home
Shaw really cemented his status with that performance, really hope they can get him here
Jordan Chapman posted he visited. Would be a great get. Hornack from Burrell was with him as well
The third guy who visited with them I don’t recognize. He is very short so definitely a lightweight prospect as of now
I agree. Everything I had heard about him was a PA school or Rutgers. He is definitely a stud though and probably a career 125
