You do realize, many things in life are relative.....Slow feet, mediocre strength, no drive off the ball.
Don't, Pat, don't. Slow feet, mediocre strength, no drive off the ball.
Yes, the apple does fall far from the tree.
Yeah being a weak link at Notre Dame, the national title runner up, doesn't equate to not being a quality player. When you are surrounded by high quality players you can be relatively bad and still actually be a solid player. I have no idea if he is any good but not being good enough for ND doesn't equate to not being good enough for Pitt.I don't know enough about him as a player, but my Notre Dame friends had been saying he was a weak link on their line long before he hit the portal. It's certainly possible the he is both not good enough for ND line and better than what Pitt has.

Or Eli Holstein? Some guys that don't get playing time at top programs transfer down and star and some are duds. I have no idea if this player would be more Holstein or Jurkovec like.Didn’t you guys use the same logic for Jerkovich??
Yeah, but before Eli Holstein, how many other transfer QB types have we seen come and go that just weren’t it?? I think for all the energy that they spend getting transferred portal quarterbacks they can spin just as much energy developing their own recruitsOr Eli Holstein? Some guys that don't get playing time at top programs transfer down and star and some are duds. I have no idea if this player would be more Holstein or Jurkovec like.
He starts 23 games for Notre Dame - Starts. We don’t need Rocco. ND don’t need Rocco. You don’t leave a program like ND where you are a starter for a championship contender unless your ass was given the boot…. Let him go on with his life’s work…
Agree. He started every game for a team that just played for the NC and as top 5 among P4s in rushing offense. I'm pretty sure he would be an upgrade at G for Pitt.I don't know enough about him as a player, but my Notre Dame friends had been saying he was a weak link on their line long before he hit the portal. It's certainly possible the he is both not good enough for ND line and better than what Pitt has.
Watch and see where he lands, and what his NIL payday looks like.We don’t need Rocco. ND don’t need Rocco. You don’t leave a program like ND where you are a starter for a championship contender unless your ass was given the boot…. Let him go on with his life’s work…
If he wasn't good enough for Pitt when he was a recruit, screw him. And if his dad hates Pitt now, why bother?Watch and see where he lands, and what his NIL payday looks like.
Hint--it will be at a better program than Pitt, for more money than Pitt could/would ever give an OL. Word is Michigan is the current frontrunner.
Posters poormouthing a 2 year starter on a NC team while Pitt just dumpster dove for Michigan's trash at OT. The Lair never disappoints.
Eli was pretty darned average over the seasonOr Eli Holstein? Some guys that don't get playing time at top programs transfer down and star and some are duds. I have no idea if this player would be more Holstein or Jurkovec like.
If I'm running a company and I offer a job to someone and they don't accept it for a different, should I write them off if they quit or resign from that job?If he wasn't good enough for Pitt when he was a recruit, screw him. And if his dad hates Pitt now, why bother?
You won't have to worry about it.If he wasn't good enough for Pitt when he was a recruit, screw him. And if his dad hates Pitt now, why bother?
Piss on him.... We don't need Rocco.... Michael Corleone didn't need Rocco either... If he did, he wouldn't have sent him on the suicide mission to kill Hyman Roth....He starts 23 games for Notre Dame - Starts.
Not Minchy who's 3rd string or whatever - Spindler Starts - for Notre Dame.
At a position that Pitt desperately needs help - and a legacy.
Hell he could probably tell Darveux how real programs run an OL.
But no, Pitt shouldn't take him.
Unbelievable.
LOL! Some of you guys crack me up. Posters are getting worked up about a guy that's not coming to Pitt. You guys can talk yourselves into him coming to Pitt and how much he can help us. I'll go the opposite direction so you're not disappointed.... You can blame me when Pitt gets snubbed by another legacy.....again.....Watch and see where he lands, and what his NIL payday looks like.

"Weakest" link from a line that went 5-0 against ACC competition........Can't see him being of any help to the quick footed, monster strength, full of drive line that went 0-5 against their last five ACC foes...Don't, Pat, don't. Slow feet, mediocre strength, no drive off the ball.

If we're so bad and he's so good, why would he come here?Post of the day.
If we're so bad and he's so good, why would he come here?
No one said he was...You just felt the need to bust on the kid for some reason...btw, there is such a thing as being not good enough for the National Champ runner ups but good enough, if not better than, the current talent pool at Pitt, agreed? If we're so bad and he's so good, why would he come here?
Easy, he wants to finish up having fun. If he goes to a strong program this, his last year, he may well find himself in the same situation he was in at ND, fighting day after day just to stay in the line-up. Knowing you will be one of the top athletes may really allow you to focus on areas you need to improve upon, if you can do it well enough you may blow up and get a shot on the next level, plus you know you are going to be on the field on Saturdays. Plus you get to play for the joy of playing, practicing all week and standing on the sidelines for the OL is the worst. If we're so bad and he's so good, why would he come here?
If he comes to Pitt, I would be pleasantly surprised. The more experienced options at OL, the better. No one said he was...You just felt the need to bust on the kid for some reason...btw, there is such a thing as being not good enough for the National Champ runner ups but good enough, if not better than, the current talent pool at Pitt, agreed?
It happens quite frequently. Most likely, Rocco wanted more than what ND was willing to pay & the Irish feel they will get better value going with a younger OL in the pipeline they have developed. We don’t need Rocco. ND don’t need Rocco. You don’t leave a program like ND where you are a starter for a championship contender unless your ass was given the boot…. Let him go on with his life’s work…
He won't--unless Dooz offers the biggest bag. In which case he will. But he won't.If we're so bad and he's so good, why would he come here?

Way to cover all your bases. That way you can’t be wrong. You are starting to sound like SMF.He won't--unless Dooz offers the biggest bag. In which case he will. But he won't.
We are not so bad and he is not so good.He won't--unless Dooz offers the biggest bag. In which case he will. But he won't.
Actually, we're pretty bad and he's pretty good.We are not so bad and he is not so good.
You keep saying he’s from a national championship team, but that’s a little bit watered down, considering the fact that they had one of the easiest routes to the championship game. And they didn’t win the national championship. They just got lucky by being seeded where they got seeded. Now I will acknowledge that he probably has a better recruit than anybody who Pat Narduzzi recruits on the offensive line BASED ON THE HS RANKINGS. But sometimes you’re better off believing in your process and developing your own guys. But I’m sick of taking on these guys after they get done screwing around.Agree. He started every game for a team that just played for the NC and as top 5 among P4s in rushing offense. I'm pretty sure he would be an upgrade at G for Pitt.
These guys with the "no, Pat, don't" but were either silent or praising the pickup when we just took a transfer OT who barely got on the field at Michigan in 4 full years (including this year after they graduated their entire 2023 OL) are ridiculous. Spindler would be one of the most accomplished transfers Dooz ever brought in. A full time starter from a NC team, and he's not good enough for Pitt. LOL. Just mind boggling absurdity on this board. every day, I have to say, keeps me engaged.
Not gonna happen anyway, his dad hates Pitt for the way the U handled things/him with the Golden Panthers at the tail end of his time as a Panther.
Then we know he ain’t coming here 😂same situation he was in at ND, fighting day after day just to stay in the line-up.
Yep-fought every day just to stay in the starting lineup 23 straight games, 1300 snaps. I think you have it pegged.
Or maybe it's simply a case of a grad student who, on the wise advice of his dad, is trying to make as much money as he can playing football, and he's in the portal to max out his market value because, as his dad has preached to him, football futures are never guaranteed.
And Nebraska semester starts later than Pitt, so he wouldn't be behind as much there. If these things called grades still matter for athletes.Spindler is a registered student at Pitt. Peak said this and I just searched it myself. The bad news is that he's also a Nebraska student. So between us and them I guess.
