BballinsiderfromPitt loves this guy and for me, he fits the bill as a high major guy. I stopped paying attention to them as they started off poorly in a loaded MWC this year but they made the NIT, which was shocking to me.

Dave Odom's son has ACC in his blood and was the architect of the only 16 seed upset. If he has significant improvement in Year 2, in a pretty tough league, this is one of a handful of guys Pitt should target.

Success at the low major level
Success at the high major level
That's a pretty good sign.

Is he a lottery ticket? I kid, I kid. Pitt could do worse and it sucks a move wasn’t made a week ago.

Utah state is high major?
Yea. They are in the Mountain West, a high major league which sent 36% of their teams to the NCAA Tournament which is more than the 33% that the ACC sent. At this point, the MWC is probably a better league than the ACC

Ryan Odom would be a very realistic option next year. I’m on board.

While the M-west is indeed a good conference, no it is not better than the ACC at this point.

I was less than impressed with Jeff Linder last night. While he has recruited amazingly at Wyoming, that was a very poor offensive display and not because his guys were missing shots and turning the ball over. Way too much 1-on-1 ball. I love Maldonado, but he makes X Johnson look like a low-risk ball handler.

I was trying to figure out why we can never get lucky with a lottery ticket big like Graham Ike. He was unrated coming out of HS and now one of the best bigs in the country. Luck plays a big part in college basketball recruiting and we have been very unlucky on our lottery tickets. We have to be like 0-15 on our last 15 lottery ticket bigs.
