It’s at least his 5th fumble as a Steeler. For a guy without a hell of a lot of touches that’s way too many.

The only guy I see with more fumbles than Connor is Zeke Elliott, he ain’t no Zeke Elliott.

You are obviously not looking at the right stats. All of these guys had similar or more carries than Conner last season:

Derrick Henry
Alvin Kamara
Marlon Mack
Melvin Gordon
Phillip Lindsay
Christian McCaffrey
Joe Mixon
Kareem Hunt
Saquon Barkley
Nick Chubb
Sony Michel
Adrian Peterson
Jordan Howard
Peyton Barber
David Johnson

Every single one of these guys had less fumbles lost than James Connor. What the stats say is that Connor is actually one of the WORST backs in the league when it comes to protecting the football.
