The last time I saw Walker was when he gave a speech at some R function. I was not impressed.

Today I saw and listened to him (C-SPAN) answer questions from an audience of Rs. (In New Hampshire) There were a few things about him that were new to me. He's shorter than I thought. He also looks very young. Someone gave him a baseball hat. I assume it was a New Hampshire hat. When he put it on he looked like a college kid. But most importantly I thought he handled himself very well. Pretty smooth. If he can be that poised in mixed company. (Ds and Rs) He just might be the one Rs should nominate.

The program was taped from Saturday.

It will be interesting watching the Republicans out conservative one another. Walker could be the one who emerges after the Republicans come up with a reason not to vote for Ben Carson.

He's won 3 times in WI as an opponent of public employee unions.

I'm guessing he'll be on the GOP ticket, if only as VEEP.

Of all the potential R candidates, I find Walker the most concerning if I'm looking at the candidates from the perspective of the Ds. I'm already gearing up for the awful conversations we'll have to endure about higher education if Walker is a candidate. Between his huge cuts to UW budget, the offensive stuff he's said about the profession of university educators, and his own lack of a college degree, we're going to suffer a lot of nonsense.

He stuffed the unions in a red state. Top candidate.

We waste billions on failing schools, and libs just want the tragedy to continue. Even FDR said public employee unions were a bad idea. Our public schools started to go down hill when unions were allowed. No cincidence.

I think a productive conversation is possible, NTOP, about public schools. But Walker is targeting the University of Wisconsin system and I think that is a more complicated matter.

You could be right, but IMO, whoever gets the nod.......

should run, not walk, and ask Carly to be his running mate. She's that good, can attack Hilldog with impunity and avoid the "picking on a woman" crap that a man may get criticized for.

Re: You could be right, but IMO, whoever gets the nod.......

Another conservative mouthpiece, Mitt Romney clone born on third base and she is going to tell people they need to pull up their boot straps? I don't think so.

You don't? Well I do....................

Articulate. Able to deliver the message without creating a sideshow unlike certain other GOP hopefuls. Right gender. I'd love to see her debate Hilldog and would bet serious jack she would win it.

HTP is a racist and misogynist. He should be ignored.

Re: You don't? Well I do....................

Only racist here is you. I wonder if Carly also feels that the Civil Rights Act and the 19th Amendment should be repealed?

Why is it more complicated?? No local boards to deal with, the

funding is at the state level, so property taxes, etc. are not localized. I'd guess the total budget numbers are a lot less, too.

She sorta crapped the bed at H-P. The Dems won't nominate a woman,

either. They have none of consequence, same as the GOP. ;)

Re: He stuffed the unions in a red state. Top candidate.

What is it about the teachers being unionized that is causing students to perform poorly?

Attitude, tenure, financial security w/o risk.

And, of course, the blatant unwillingness to discipline students.

Re: Attitude, tenure, financial security w/o risk.

What attitude do the majority of teachers have that you don't like?

I'm sure Maher would know about that.

Most "rich" folks made their own bread, and aren't primadonnas. Of course, there is a Donald.

Re: I'm sure Maher would know about that.

I agree, but when the ones like Donald and F*uckface Hilton are going around acting entitled at the expense of other, it is fun to make fun of them.

No worse than the Hollywood libs. Or rappers.

And estates SHOULD pass tax free....already been taxed obscenely.

Re: No worse than the Hollywood libs. Or rappers.

I have no problem taxing the bejesus out of inheritance. People should earn for themselves. Of course, if I was going to receive an inheritance of more than $2 I might have a different opinion.

I guess you are OK with cutting dependency programs, then.

Re: No worse than the Hollywood libs. Or rappers.

Never said I wasn't. What programs do you recommend cutting/reducing and what are you prepared to give in return?

Why should he "give" anything? Cut 10% from EVERY agency.

Do it again next year. With NO special "retiree buyouts". I'd say 30% from the IRS, but they ARE pretty busy, harassing conservative groups, sending out bad tax info to Obamacare enrollees and deleting E-mails.

You have been saying this for years....

And it might not be the worst thing that could happen, but why doesn't one of the Rs running in the primary go with a plan like this? Remember 9-9-9 from 2012? That got some buzz until Rs saw what Caine looked like. Someone like Santorum or Walker could make this the centerpiece of his campaign. "10% every year". Of course, when that 10% leads to jobs being cuts and bases and offices getting closed, both Ds and Rs will turn against it real quick.

I already "give" too much.

Cut everything - welfare, unemployment, medicare, obamacare, medicaid, education, etc.

Re: No worse than the Hollywood libs. Or rappers.

It sounds like you and NTOP agree, cut across the board. Why isn't this a central theme for some Rs who will be running?

Hint... Medicare is part of "everything" and we all know who gets most of the medicare dollars... and how often those folks vote.

Racist projections...again.

Re: No worse than the Hollywood libs. Or rappers.

And don't forget Farm subsidies, Big oil subsidies, special interest tax breaks, tax sheltered income, subsidized Federal flood insurance for millionaires beach homes, all manner of corporate welfare.

Sweetheart deals for timber and resources on federal lands, and on and on. Giveaways don't always go to the needy!

I've ALWAYS said that ALL subsidies should be ELIMINATED.

It is ALWAYS wrong for government to pick winners and losers.

Re: No worse than the Hollywood libs. Or rappers.

Always is about much, don't' you think? Surely even you can come up with instances when the government may need to subsidize certain industries for important reasons, like national defense.

The GOP has no balls.

Girly-men, mostly.

NTOP for President!!!
