Or do they have some kid they are redshirting? Figure with all of the nitter lurkers we should get a good answer.

No one with ANY experience whatsoever, that's for sure. They put up a graphic during the game that said Hack has thrown for 96% of their passing yards over the last 3 seasons.

McSorley is the likely qb next year.

Unless Hack comes back. Either way, their qb doesn't scare me.

Hack is a junior. Will he declare for the NFL? Who knows. McSorley is small, 6', read option style QB, he is rallying them right now in the second half of play

I give their inexperienced QB some credit for his clock management.

But returning to earth, the Nits got nothing more than a moral victory against an unranked, coach-less team. No one should make it any more than that.

But mark it down: the local, Nit-defending media in PA will make it sound as though they lost a heartbreaker to the Tom Brady -led Patriots.

Geez here we go. The kid comes in and leads nice rally that falls short and now he is the second coming.

Instead of dropping back, Georgia should have kept the pressure on them. No way Narduzzi don't blitz on the 4th and 12 when they were down 21. You hold there and it's game over.

Now we're going to hear how Jimmy Franks played the wrong kid and how he will lead the nits to glory in 2016. Spare me.

yeah, I think he his arm showed he could get it about 20 yards downfield. But man, what moxie and poise...

I'll take a football player over a kid with all the measurables and arm all day in college. You need playmakers at positions

Kid looked real good against a real good defense
Ok. .. when pitt came back against UNC to lose by one score, you called it garbage points and that they were really blown out.

When they did the same against Miami, you said the same.

Now... psu enters the 4th quarter down by 21, and Georgia without a DC plays prevent the rest of the game. And without an OC runs the same 3 plays the entire fourth quarter. And to you, that's some impressive comeback.

Again, you out yourself, mikemauti42.

I thought the kid played well, yes. Not sure how I outed myself by that? That's insane...many here are saying the same exact thing. It's called objectivity...maybe your computer printout is telling you he sucks?

The new kid is really quite a change up to Hack. He can run and will run when the need to comes up.

He got two TDs against a prevent defense.

I will agree he looked better than Hackenberg... but that isn't saying much, because Hackenberg is the most overhyped college player in decades. And whatever NFL GM picks Hackenberg in the first couple rounds should be fired.

I agree which is why I said I hope hack stays because he sucks. This kid will be more difficult for us to defend next yr

Hack declared he's outta there... Couldn't wait
Well duh no surprise there. He was a square peg in a round hole. You cant win in college unless you play at Bama or have a mobile QB. Losing saxonburgh wont hurt PSU as much as losing 3 d- linemen. I watched their game today and the kid that came in has balls. Did some research on him and he won 3 state championships in VA at the highest level of competition and came in second the other year. Kid looked shell shocked early but OK as the game went on. They also have a freshmen that will enroll in Jan. that is more like sackonburgh in terms of arm strength but is mobile and won 2 state championships and is the number 1 ranked player in NY and rated high nationally. Next year is our year after that the talent level separation is going to begin to grow unless we start recruiting better and i'm just not talking the WPIAL.

Once Jimmy Franks starts coaching up McSorley he will suck too.

That plus the fact they'll be playing against real DC's instead of the pseudo coaches UGA was using today.

As soon as they went up 21 the UGA replacement staff went to a 2 or 3 man rush with a soft zone prevent in the back and started to play the clock rather than the nits.

With another game or 2 of experience the make shift staff would've routed Jimmy and his nits.

I'm sure you know more about football than I ever will but without doing extensive research I'd be willing to bet GA has more 4/5 star recruits than Pitt, PSU and WV does combined.
It still comes down to althletes.
Did you watch the AL / MSU game?

Coaches make a difference late i

I'm not sure about Sackenburg, as one NFL GM put it:

Multiple NFL evaluators have said to include Hackenberg in any first round mock drafts I do. One: "Can't hold James Franklin against him."

That's gotta hurt Jame from State College feelings.

Despite how bad PSU's OL was this year, they were fine against the pass rush today. They couldn't open holes for the running game, but their QBs faced minimal pressure. So McSorley looked decent after a really inneffective start, due to being able to sit back and comfortably review the field on most passes. I agree that PN will blitz the hell out of him next year.

McSorley played well in the 4th Q, but he nearly threw two picks but they were dropped. Bizarrely, neither he or Hack could throw a screen. No touch on the throws, just straight darts that bounced off the RBs.

I only watched bits and pieces of the nits before I left for the basketball game, so I looked up his stats since some of you were so impressed with the backup. He was 14-27 for 142 yards. To put that into perspective, before he left the game Hackeysack was 8/14 for 139 yards. So he completed a lesser percentage of his passes while simultaneously throwing shorter passes. It took him 13 more passes to gain 3 more yards. That's generally a bad combination.

Hack couldn't hack it anymore, can't wait to get away from Franklin

He is still a good NFL prospect. He just happens to play behind a piss poor OL and has the mobility of a statue.

CH declaring for the draft is good for him and good for PSU.

Mobility isn't nearly as important in the NFL. He won't be playing behind a ragtag OL, which incidentally has to be partly responsible for some of his bad decision making.

I'm much more worried about McSorley against Pitt's defense next year than Hackenberg. If Hack would've decided to come back, next year would have been a nearly automatic W for us next season.

Another serious question....
What are the chances we hear James from State College Monday call in to local Pgh radio and ask what they think about Hack not mentioning Franklin at all after declaring?

LOL. We delayed leaving lunch until that ended. Group of nitwits in the bar making noise. They just looked in shock after I yelled: "How 'bout them Dawgs" as we left. UGA looked like Wanny was coaching them....prevent defense, safe running plays, NO pressure.. Barkley is a stud, though.

I don't think McSorley is very good!
He threw two high balls in the end zone and if you watch the replays the recievers made those plays not McSorley. Two of the best catches I've watched in a long time.
Not two of the best throws.
Otherwise he was average at best. He does run better than Hackenberg!

Next year It'll be between the three: Trace McSorely RS Sophomore, Tommy Stevens RS Freshman or in coming freshman Jake Zembiac. Jake is an EE so will have time to learn the new system under Moorhead this spring. Understandably, Trace has a leg up with game time experience, but very little at that.

Hack's problems won't be physical as much as mental. He was hit so frequently at UPS that he may need a few months in a dark, quiet room to get his senses back.

He's definitely got talent, but will he be able to withstand the stress of an NFL pass rush, and the punishment that NFL QBs have to endure - especially those who don't have the greatest mobility?
