Serious nit question. Is #9 the qb we face next year

Next year It'll be between the three: Trace McSorely RS Sophomore, Tommy Stevens RS Freshman or in coming freshman Jake Zembiac. Jake is an EE so will have time to learn the new system under Moorhead this spring. Understandably, Trace has a leg up with game time experience, but very little at that.

All this talk about comparative talents of PedU QBs is all irrelevant.
Happy Valley for years has been the place where QBs of various potential and talent go in one door and exit years later battered, defeated and absent any future.

Pitts had Marino 35 years ago, congrats. And who else...At least PSU has Kerry Collins. About next year, all you need to do is look at the depth chart to see the QB's. All are underclassman. With a verbal from NY who is said to be pretty good, but we know how that is.

Who let you out of Jonestown?

I think the best will be Sean Clifford class of 2017 and already committed. Watch his junior season hudl highlights. Just wow!! He's gonna be special.

You are already declaring a kid who has never played a down in college to be "special" or projecting him to be "the best?" Hack was a five-star quarterback who the Pedsters were claiming was going to be the number one pick overall in the NFL draft, yet he regressed after his freshman season.

I'll drink (heavily) to that!

To answer your question - I think Mcsorley has the edge to start right now, but this will be decided in training camp. The reason he started yesterday is that the other QB on the roster right now (stevens) is redshirting.

As other posters mentioned, we have a freshman coming in this semester and most expect those three to battle for the starting nod. I could see any of the three winning the job. I think a lot of it will come down to which one fits in Moorhead's (the new OC) system the best. We don't have a lot to go on right now so it's mostly guessing.

I thought Snackenberg started, and McSorley came in after he was forced out of the game. If their OL doesn't improve, the kid is going to have to change the spelling of his name to McSorely.

Joe, I'm not saying Clifford will be the best, but I can't help myself watching his highlights thinking he's gonna be special. His junior year highlights are outstanding and with a year left, he'll only get better. I think he ends up being better than McSorely, Stevens and Zembeic.

Hack will still be a first or second round pick. His regression was due to a total lack of offensive pass blocking. As a freshman, he had the blocking and time to setup, go through progressions, and deliver. Not so the last two seasons; hence, the not so great QB numbers. Oh, and anyone who thought Hack would be a first overall selection based on the last two years truly was not thinking clearly.

Right, 3 qbs at the game yesterday. Hack, Mcsorley, and Stevens. Hack was hurt so the only option was Mcsorley as Stevens was RSing.
