Problem is, jerseys don't have sleeves anymore. So all sleeve stripes are an accent of some kind

I agree, they look like little kid jersey's that the sleave is so small. If you wanted to do some design, you are better off on the shoulder pad like Oregon does. Much more room there to work with than half a sleave.

I wouldn't put anything on the shoulder or sleave other than a patch maybe to honor something.

For the record, I wasn't saying I dislike the stripes. I was simply saying that teams nowadays that wear shoulder stripes all have some type of half stripe because it's not possible to go all the way around.
