I’ll guess Pitt barely makes the first one

Pitt could be the only one loss P4 team that is not ranked

They rank resumes, not teams. 7-1. Only loss to a Top 10ish team. We will be ranked fairly high. Look at the resumes for teams O ranked around us and tell me why they will be higher. You guys get so caught up in polls. Polls are meaningless. The committee starts from scratch and rank RESUMES and ours is still pretty good. Had we won last night, we would have been #9.

This isn’t true. There is clearly a power poll and AP-Coaches poll aspect to their rankings.

I'm not sure what you are saying. The CFP rankings wont be an "ESPN FPI" or "Vegas ranking," where Pitt would be very low because we arent all that talented. It ranks resumes. Sure, some of that Vegas element comes into play but that's why I have 1 loss Pitt 18th instead of unranked, where some AP poll voters will have them.

I didnt even look at this to make my ranking but Pitt's strength of record is 14th. Still pretty good and the rest of this lines up fairly well to my rankings

I've said before, that's one of those things that he thinks if he keeps saying it it will actually become true.

It wasn't true the first time he said it, and it still isn't true today. And we only have to go back to last year to see that he's obviously wrong.

Now cue SMF telling everyone why them doing the opposite of what he says they do just last year doesn't actually count.

Thoughts on my picks:

I had Pitt exactly right. 1 off on Clemson and Miami and 2 off on SMU. Didnt account for Louisville but the committee gives you credit for good losses and Lou has lost to Miami, ND, and SMU with a win over Clemson. Clemson has 2 good losses but no good wins.

- OSU 2, Georgia 3. The committee gave OSU credit for a better loss at Oregon than Georgia's loss at Alabama. UGa won at Texas and vs Clemson. OSU won at PSU. I thought UGa should be higher.

- Scratching my head on BYU. Won at SMU. Beat KSt. No losses. The resume is really good.

- Don't understand why ND is so high. The NIU loss is the worst in the Top 25. They beat Lou and won at A&M but is that a better resume that SMU, who also beat Louisville and whose only loss is to unbeated BYU?

- Very surprised PSU is so high. No good wins but they have a good loss and the committee seems to give credit for showing up and losing to good teams. Stick their resume next to SMU and you can make a strong case that SMU should be higher but PSU is 7 spots ahead compared to 1 ahead which is where I had them. PSU is ranked so high that they can probably lose at Minnesota and finish 10-2 without a win over a Top 40 team and make the CFP.

It's almost as if they aren't really ranking resumes, they are ranking who they think are the best teams. Who could have guessed it?

Well, I mean who could have guessed it other than someone who has read their selection criteria, literally the first words of which say that they are supposed to pick the best teams. And doesn't use the word "resume" at all.
