Stanford, Cal, SMU boards

Great posts, as usual. I had been on the SMU board the past week or so but you did a much better job than I did at introducing the university. Interesting to read some of the Cal and Stanford responses, who did not realize how renowned our academics and research were.

The color schemes between Pitt and Cal should be very interesting.
Not to mention the stadiums!

I'm glad Cal is in and I hope we play the Bears often. Stanford is fine. Two great academic institutions full supported by Notre Dame which bodes well if the Irish are pushed into a conference. Cal spent the money (then AD Sandy Barbour went in debt) unlike Pitt who opted to tear down Pitt Stadium.

There's something just plan weird about SMU and all that Texas oil money.

If you are interested in going over and saying Hi/Welcome or giving some tips for future visits to the 'burgh, here are the boards that I've found (I also started a welcome from Pitt thread at each):

Terrific job, CrazyPaco, you made be feel so proud about the ACC adding three high quality academic institutions to its roster. Notre Dame, North Carolina, Miami, Boston College, Pitt, Virginia already gave the ACC a great academic reputation. Notre Dame really wanted the addition of Cal and Stanford. Read between the lines.

I agree with your last sentiment; I think that the ACC should try to appease Notre Dame however it can until the day comes that they have to pick a conference. If they join the Big Ten, it’s not like the conference wasn’t fracturing to begin with. Entice them enough to choose the ACC and we’re in good shape.
