You seem confused. Trump has repeatedly lied, but yet you choose to bury your head in the sand.
No doubt the tariffs will hurt parts of the economy. Many sectors were oversold, so no one is surprised we are seeing a reset after three years of a bull market. Energy is still a little much right now. The market is choppy as it should be but there is more downside to be expected (think June to October before it turns around). Modern supply side economics (as opposed government spending the past 3 years) takes time to turn the ship around. Look for better tax policy (incentives and tariff penalties if not produced in the US), infrastructure investment (think AI), regulatory reform (probably energy...maybe healthcare), education and workforce reforms (watchout higher education!!!), and a stable monetary policy (not government printing money).

Trump lies like every politician. His lies are typically harmless bragging. He doesn't lie about the big things. I am capable of filtering through his lies to understand the truth behind his statements.
There has already been nearly $2 trillion in private investment pledged in the near-term future. The "private" part may be more important than the amount. Both are huge to growing this economy back. And more will come.

In 2020, there were Republican political appointees so the donations were 60/40 Biden. In 2024, there were Dem political appointees, so donations were 80/20 Harris. Again, the federal workforce is pretty close to 60/40. It's not 90/10. These are normal, everyday people. It's not 90% blue-haired hippies. 30% of the federal workforce are veterans who tend to vote Republican.

I am sort of with you in the sense that this drop isn't the end of the world because we can buy up some cheap stuff. For us though, we'll make crumbs. The oligarchs are the ones who will benefit. I'll probably wait till it hits 35K.
