Now this is what I call peak MACtion… in October, no less!
Well, I decided to get the 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime Video to watch the Steelers on Thursday so I watched "Cocaine Bear" and "The Man in the High Castle" Instead of MACtion.
There's a movie from maybe 20 years ago, I think it's called "CSA: Confederate States of America" it's kind of like a fake documentary form, where the South won the Civil War and the CSA (USA) is all about slavery today and sided with the Nazis and helped them win WW2. I thought it was pretty hilarious, like a comedy, but most people would find it offensiveThe Man in the High Castle was pretty good but could have been better. Its different. You dont see many/any alternative history shows. HBO was supposed to do one where if the South won the Civil War but that was shut down.
I’m a big Apple TV+ fan and they have a fantastic show called For All Mankind, which is an alternative universe series about if the Soviets won the space race. It starts off with little wrinkles that are different but spins off a little more as the seasons go on. Season 4 starts Nov. 10; it’s a much-watch IMO.The Man in the High Castle was pretty good but could have been better. Its different. You dont see many/any alternative history shows. The idea I have for a show and its something I'm developing for SMFN is what if cable news was around for a certain era? Lets say the Revolutionary War era or Civil War era, or WW2 era? Would there have been one channel saying we need to stay out of Europe. Germany only wants the Sudetenland, let them work it out (sound familiar?). Anyway, the show would be like cable news broadcasts and the behind the scenes for a right wing and a left wing channel.
