The streak is still alive. Since the 1981 season Pitt has managed to lose at least three football games in a season. No matter who the coach is, who the staff is made up of, no matter what league, what AD and no matter how many great individiual talent we have produced not a one 10-2 , 11-2 type seasons. This is just mind - boggling and defies the basic law of averages. And there are none in sight. I am 67 and not getting any younger.

Pitt, Indiana, and Vanderbilt are the only 3 in that category

Let This Sink In.......Almost every program since 1981 has had back to back 10 win seasons or 11 or more wins in at least 1 season. I just listed a few below.

Kansas - Mark Mangino went 12-1
Wake Forest - Jim Grobe went 11-3
Boston College - 10-3 and 11-3 in 2006 and 2007
Cincinnati - They have numerous 11 or more win seasons
Temple - Multiple 10 win seasons under Matt Rhule
Rutgers - 11-2 under Schiano

Correct and at least those teams could use difficulty of conference as an excuse. We have been playing in the BE, and now are in the Coastal. Even a blind squirrel should find a nut once in awhile.

yeah that really should be eye opening. Pitt at least had a football history most of those teams have zero football history and other than maybe BC have been irrelevant for most of my life of 48 years but honestly Pitt has been too now that I think of it. I saw 10 years of good football but been irrelevant since the mid 80s

This is more of a reflection on the administration than the football program.

The head honchos don’t think it is important winning 11 games and certainly don’t care about the fans and pageantry surrounding the football program in the fall.

It sucks, but you don’t go 11-2 /10-2 by accident. It takes so much commitment and the school wants no part of it.

I just look at it that at least Pitt is average, which is better than sucking.

Get used to it, as it's not changing any time soon.

Even if you care greatly about football it is tough to avoid three-plus loss seasons.

Since 1982
Texas: 29 seasons
Penn State: 25

Since making the Rose Bowl in 1993 Wisconsin has 21.

Now, these teams have several 10-3/11-3 type seasons, which makes a huge difference.

But to the Pitt administration, it isn't fazed one bit by the 38 straight seasons.
