They're playing the #1 team in the country..... and the WVU Colliseum is, at best, 20% full.

It's like they're playing Robert Morris.

They play like G'Town under JT in the 80's. If the refs let them foul, then they are tough to beat.

The Hoopies can defend.

Now up by 11, and KU has only scored 44 points in 31 minutes.

I think the sparse crowd will be storming the court soon.

Hoopies VERY impressive tonight. Up 11 with 5:30 minutes to go. They have completely stifled Kansas.

Yep -- this game is over. 60-49 with 4:42 and the Jayhawks won't score 60 tonight.

Very impressive defense.

Cc has their 10 mins of fame tonight with Kansas playing lousy and 20+ turnovers. Let's see when they play Kansas away from their little world.

The hoopie fans starting walking down the stairs from the upper level to the lower level at around the 4 minute mark.

I thought court stormings are supposed to be "spontaneous." Oh well.

I fear the Hoopie fans are preparing to tear down the baskets then set them on fire.

It's never happened at the Pete. I don't recall a storming ever at the Fitz either (from 1984 on ...)

You think if Pitt had beaten Kansas at the Pete tonight our fans would have stormed?? I just can't see it.

I think the Hoopies deserve their due. KU played like they were standing still all game long.

DT - I agree; WVU was clearly the better team and will be a tough out going forward. I've lost track of them since they moved to the Big 12, but you had to know that Huggs would find a way to recruit and coach the players he needs, to thrive in that conference

Poker, I'm hoping it never happens, even if we have a similar experience. Act like you've been there. Now, if we were to win a Regional Final or NCAAT, well, all bets are off!! ;^)

What's the big deal about students having some fun? They're in college. The players seem to enjoy being surrounded by their classmates. It's a fun, memorable moment.

You're just being an old grumble-pants.

Nope.

First ... we've beaten #1 at the Pete before and we didn't storm.

Second ... security at the Pete makes CERTAIN there is no court storming.

Just as long as they don't set anything on fire.

Pitt has knocked off plenty of top 5 teams at home in the past 13 years or so - including a win over the #1 team in the country at home in 2009. No court storming. Doubt it would happen either.

And if you weren't in the building when we knocked off UCONN in that 2009 game, man the air wasn't air it was that word they call atmosphere. When Young threw down the oop in the second half I felt like the roof was literally going to blow off the joint.

WVU is good and right now playing as well as anyone. I don't care if you hate them or not. BUT....Kansas may have been the weakest #1 team that I have seen. I mean, they aren't that good.

I will admit it looked like a very mellow and almost organized court "storming". And they almost sounded like they were singing the WV National Anthem on key! What's happening down there? Have you guys forgotten how to burn couches? Your fans seemed civil - dang, I liked it better when you were just a bunch of moonshine - sipping hillbillies!! ;^)

Well I am old; and the grumble in my pants is probably due to all that fiber my doc wants me to eat ...

Well, we can't change who we are. Hopefully for your sake if you ever witness Pitt win an especially important game, someone will be kind enough to roll your butt onto the court so you can have some fun.
