**Philadelphia RB D’Andre Swift is one of the top running backs in the entire country. Swift (5-10, 208) currently has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Pitt. I’m told by a reliable source that “Pitt is in play for Swift more than people think. They definitely have a shot at him.”

He will have a great opportunity at Pitt to earn playing time as a true freshman, and perhaps even win the starting job. I don't think he'd have much of a chance to play as a true freshman at PSU. RB is one of the few spots where they appear to be set for a while.

Would suck being a running back named sanders knowing no matter how good you are you'll always be the second best RB named sanders.
Swift does look excellent on tape. I imagine Pitt wouldn't have any ties to his heart yet but I think this next year could be special nationally with publicity surrounding the hopeful great comeback from Conner

I think Sanders and McKensie are the only ones I can think of we didnt get. We have a rich history, probably stack up against any college in the country as far as backs go

Serious question thanks to Miles Sanders mom....did anyone at their time at Pitt really feel threatened in Oakland? 4 and a half years and I can honestly say not once did I ever go OMG like I was in south Central LA or something of that nature...

Thoughts?

I believe there are things that the university and the city can do to give it a safer feel. Just last week there were 3 separate assaults on female students, all in one week. Yes, crap like this happens everywhere I agree but there are steps that can be taken to give the campus a less "urban" look to it..

I seriously believe that if Narduzzi was here a year earlier Sanders would be Pitt bound. Mom or no mom. Franklin lucked out by having free reign for a year. That window is gone.

Honestly, there were 2 times in my 4 years including a summer that I felt threatened at Pitt.

Having said that, I felt more threatened in a rural area where I grew up over the same 4 year period.

As a female I can honestly say I never felt threatened or had even one remotely bad experience at Pitt, nor did any of my friends or sorority sisters. Having said that, we all took precautions like never walking alone at night, etc., but the thought never entered my head that Pitt/Oakland was a dangerous place.

Whatever the threat level was during your time in Oakland.......or what it may be now....

it is way, way less than opposing recruiters make it out to be.

It is the job of LaSala...Borghetti, Narduzzi (Pitt's very own la Cosa Nostra)....to show kids how much fun being here can be.

Agreed but that rule i.e. Walking alone at night, should be for every campus, whether it's Pitt, State College, Athens Georgia

Went to Pitt in the late 60's and never felt threatened. Went to engineering grad school at night in the 70s with no problems.

Pittsburgh is a great city; Pitt is a great university. We sometimes lose sight of these facts.

Go Pitt.

I went to Pitt in the early 70s, walked Oakland late at night, and never felt threatened. My oldest daughter went to pharmacy school for 6 yrs, and youngest in CAS for 4 and they said they never felt threatened and enjoyed the night life like most others.

Are you trying to be an idiot?
