Wasn't it after Virginia when the football team had its players-only meeting? Hope they're not deducting these things as business expenses.
there is nothing more over rated and meaningless than the "players only meeting". in any sport.
Mets turned their season around after having one last year.
so they just started hitting better and pitching better all because of this closed door, players only meeting? They were half assing it until some players yelled and screamed behind closed doors and then all of a sudden, everyone gave it 100% and they started winning?
Yeah, it's one of those things where everybody has them and then you mostly only hear about the ones that worked. I'm sure there have been quite a few Disney-worthy orations given by coaches before games prior to said team getting its doors beat off, too.
Seriously. I would love to know what team hasn't had one. I guess maybe if you make it through the regular season undefeated you don't need one, but other than that, every team has one of these.
I hope it was ONLY about playing as a team, sharing the ball, playing team defense and rebounding. This hero ball won't work. We don't need superstars. We need guys who know how to work together and win.
Defense and rebounding are playing as a team with effort and communication.
So wait - you are posting this and the only game that happened after the meeting and at the time of the post was the Clemson game.
And that was literally a play, a bounce, a second on the clock, etc from being a win. Against a good team.
