The ACC problem

Pitt needs to add one game against the A10, AAC, and Big East every year with at least one on the road. That alone would improve our non conference schedule dramtically regardless of who it is and if we win.
City game, WVU, and temple every year. Done.

So let’s say your 2 best players are injured and they come back after 15 games and you’re 3-12 , now you run the table and lose in your conference finals to a number #1 seed in the tournament. You in or does your start kill you !

The solution is simple …….Pick the best teams at the end of the season !

Pitt was SCREWED !

Had NC STATE lost to UNC, they weren't getting in the tournament. Not did they deserve a bid without the ACC Tournament Championship.

Pitt wasn't screwed. They had plenty of opportunities to play their way in.

Next thing you know the national pundits will say is the ACC is not a good conference, they just get lucky when playing in the NCAA Tournament. Lol, year after year our conference shows out!

They didn't show out last year. I think Miami was the only team to make it past the first weekend.

Losing a hotly contested game to a future number 1 seed in the semis after going 12-3 in their final 15 games is pretty strong resume . Guess they should’ve gone undefeated !

It was the resume before the last 15.

Or had they beaten UNC & NC STATE in DC, that would have worked as well.

Sweet 16 teams last 5 years. But hey its just Duke and UNC right.

ACC: 9
Big-12: 7
Big East: 6
SEC: 6
PAC-12: 5
Big-10: 4
MWC: 1

12-3 head to head this year with the Big 12.

You mean like the entire ACC conference schedule? The schedule in which they came in fourth over 2.5 months, that was their opportunity and they held that position and showed out in the conference tournament, that is why you play the games. So Pitt answered the bell when they had the opportunity, no team that finished lower than they should have gotten an invite before them.

So when that happened it was the definition of getting screwed.

Showed out in the conference tournament? They beat a NIT team in WF and lost the next game to UNC.

I'd call that respectable. It's certainly nothing special.

They were the 4th seed and their were only 4 teams left and they took the 1 seed down to the wire....Virginia who finished lower than Pitt in the standings and lost at home to Pitt, needed OT to beat the 11th seed and lost to the 10th seed in the ACC tourney, yet got invited, Pitt go screwed.

No bubble team is ever screwed.

Pitt was royally screwed. Pitt vs UVa isnt even comparable. Similar overall schedules and Pitt with the better wins. And we know now (I knew at the time) that the MWC, FAU, and Dayton shouldn't have been in

No bubble team is ever screwed. If you can't do better than leaving your fate in the hands of the committee for the last few at large bids, you don't deserve to be playing for a championship.

Teams that are in the bubble are there for a reason. It's because they aren't very good.

You dont get it. Pitt was on the bubble only because there were 7 teams who had no business being in the discussion in front of them.

The MWC should not have received 6 bids and the Big 12 should not have received 8 bids. Pitt should have been a 9 or 10 seed.

I haven’t watched one effing game of this effing tournament. Eff the NCAA selection committee. Eff Lunardi. Eff CBS.

Seriously?

Do you actually think Pitt is a Top 15 team?

I do. Top 15 resume, no. But on Selection Sunday, there werent 15 better teams. And the metrics the last 2 months show that. Total robbery. Depending on luck, draw, etc, we could have even won the whole thing.

22-11 with a NET of 40 and Pitt wasn't that great of a team?? Why is this poster allowed to post here? He even admitted he's not a Pitt fan and its clear he's just trolling.
