A look at next year of defense is pretty solid

We lose Hendrix, Shane Roy, Folson

Thats all. We get Camp back, Jones looks good, Wheeler and Twyman got a ton of PT this year.
I think Morgan, Pine and others will move into those roles next year. Most of these guys above were decent recruits and any can step up

So looking at Weaver, Watts, Camp, Jones starting with most likely Alexandre and Morgan/Pine (unless he is LB) backing up the ends and Wheeler and Twyman continuing to back up the middle, with more depth with Bentley and Davidson more likely to play. Incoming we have Jules, Nelms, Brima and Mack that all look decent with size

Linebackers

Saleem Brightwell LB 6-0 225 Paterson, NJ / Paramus Catholic R-Jr. 9
Oluwaseun Idowu LB 6-0 230 Wexford, PA / North Allegheny R-Sr. 23
Elijah Zeise LB 6-2 240 Pittsburgh, PA / North Allegheny R-Sr. 25

Albert Tucker LB 6-1 225 Plantation, FL / St. Thomas Aquinas R-Fr. 29
Chase Villani LB 6-1 220 Pittsburgh, PA / Fox Chapel Fr. 35
Jackson Henry LB 6-2 225 Perkasie, PA / Pennridge Fr. 37
Cam Bright LB 6-0 220 Cleveland, OH / Park Crossing (AL) R-Fr. 38
Wendell Davis LB 6-2 235 Richmond, VA / Benedictine College Prep Fr. 39
Elias Reynolds LB 6-2 235 Brooklyn, NY / Poly Prep Country Day School R-So. 44
Kyle Nunn LB 6-3 225 Findlay, OH / Findlay R-Fr. 47

Here we lose Zeise, Idowu, and only have 9 others on the roster.

Guessing Brightwell, Reynolds, McKee? With Tucker, Nunn/Davis and Bright backing up? Or Pine depending on where he ends up, he could be starting.

Once again, this will be our problem area, not alot to work with here. People that thought Zeise and Idowu were undersized, look above, they are the heaviest in the group. Where have you gone Clint Session? Incoming guys George and Wright should get looks, but doubt they should or would contribute right away.

Rimoni Dorsey DB 6-0 205 Richmond, VA / Trinity Episcopal School

Motley and Briggs are gone, but leaves a ton of talent here.

Hamlin, Jackson, Pinnock all played great at times this year, and Mathis played well. Guessing Coleman/Campbell will battle for Briggs spot, and Pinnock will have Motley. Plus Ford, Garner, Williams, Stocker, Tallandier all will get playing time. Plus in coming Khadry Jackson should be interesting.

Defense should get even better next year, we still have to play UCF again, but at least we replace ND with Delaware. Really what we are now missing are the run stuffers. We have a quicker unit, no beef, and that will be a problem vs a team like BC.

It is interesting we only lose 7 but recruited 13 to replace them.

I thought 7-8 wins this year; I think 9-10 wins next year.
10 wins that makes zero sense jmo. That kind of number puts Pitt in w the best teams in the country.....
I’d be surprised if the boys in the desert pin the win number any higher than 6.5

Wendell Davis has been getting mentioned by the coaches as looking like a good young guy in practice throughout the season - I am hoping gt at he is able to step up because he seems to have the measurables.

Not for next year....but recruits Wright and mack (if they can keep him)

Are two playmakers we desperately need

Bright, Brightwell and Davis are the leading candidates for the OLB spots. All have gotten PT this year I believe. I suppose you could include McKee as well. Bright has played a fair amount so Id say he and Brightwell would have the edge on the others but Duzz likes to rotate frequently on D so there will be PT for others.

I think Nunn is an ILB so he may get reps with Reynolds if Pine moves to DE permanently,

Definitely need to add depth at LB. Dont be surprised if one of the bigger DBS is converted to OLB (Ford, Cambell, Garner, Tallander). DB has quite a bit of depth.

Yeah, I agree, although we almost always side with seniority.

I think we get a few transfers (or asked to leave type deals) out of this bunch, since we recruited so many numbers here.

Mack is a DE and needs a year in the weight room before seeing the field.

yeah at 215 if thats what his actual weight is, its hard to imagine him contributing as a true frosh unless he his lights out as a pass rusher. He no doubt is a solid prospect though.......of course hes only a three star
