Many programs get lucky once a year and upset a better team, just as Pitt did in stunning an undermanned Duke squad. It was an upset and nothing more. Unfortunately, Dixon couldn't control his team nor his own emotions and the team believed they were better than they were, thus getting beat by teams that are middle-to-lower end of the ACC...right where they were expected to finish. When you figure they've gone 6-9 since starting the season 14-1 on a diet of cupcakes, they need to make a good showing in the ACC tournament to secure a bid. If they lose Wednesday, something the NCAA should view as the last straw - the team most likely won't get in. A first round flame-out in the NIT will then occur and then St. Jamie lives on with the sycophants chanting "wait until next year when the team is full of seniors" talk and the delusion rolls forward for one more season. With Dixon's ridiculous contract extension still in effect, we can expect this pattern for at least a few more years. Yay.
