The TE position...

Glad to hear Tyler Sear is stepping up, but no mention of Grant Carrigan. Is he still on the team... did he switch positions?
Yes he is on the team. He just did a video interview last week. My guess is he is a very good blocker but maybe less so as a receiver. That's why some have hinted he may eventually be headed to the OL.

The Arkansas transfer is looking real good
Where did you hear that? if Sear is now runnings with the first team that would suggest our Arkansas transfer may not exactly be setting the world on fire.

Ummmm......... they do use a lot of 2 and 3 tight end sets in our offense. Sear is also doing very well.

The kid can stretch the field. He’s more of a big wideout than your traditional TE. 6’4 235ish and runs like a deer. Is what I was told.

It seems as though it's Sear, Gragg (transfer), and Carrigan, with Mimes and Medure as
the backup depth. Mimes is a frosh and a recruited DE, so I'd guess that he gets a
redshirt. I hope Sear really does well. If he beats out Gragg, it's really no surprise
since Gragg hardly saw the field at Arkansas. On the other hand he was a four star
recruit, but has yet to show his show his potential. If Sear pans out, and Gragg
is a viable backup we might be ok given that Aston is also in the mix as a hybrid
who can line up in different positions including TE on occasion.

Inciteful!

Big wideouts are the trend for college TE's.
Speed is important, along with a step up in size from the traditional WR.

Love the news! Do you have a budd close with the team? If so, talk about insider info.
